We browse the early odds board in search of MLB betting value on Saturday's card and offer two picks to maximize your profits this weekend.

Blue Jays vs. Royals

Right-hander Marco Estrada (4-5, 4.98 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) takes the hill for the Blue Jays after allowing six earned runs on seven hits (one home run) and four walks with four strikeouts 3 2/3 innings during Monday's 7-6 win over the Rangers, although he didn't factor into the decision. Estrada has now given up 23 earned runs through just 16 1/3 innings over his past four starts (he's 0-3 in that span) and his ERA has gone from 3.15 to 4.98.

Jason Vargas (10-3, 2.27 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) will get the ball for the Royals after winning his fifth straight start last Sunday, when he gave up three earned runs on eight hits and two walks and three strikeouts over six innings of a 7-3 victory against the Angels. Vargas leads the American League with 10 wins, ranks second with a 2.27 ERA and he's 5-1 with a 1.81 ERA in seven home starts (one complete game).

I can't back Estrada until he proves he's capable of limiting opponents and Vargas has given up three earned runs or less in nine of his last 10 starts, so I'm taking the Royals at -116 MLB odds.

Mets vs. Giants

Jacob deGrom (6-3, 3.94 ERA, 1.33 WHIP) will start for the Mets after surrendering one unearned run on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts over eight innings in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Nationals. DeGrom has allowed just one earned run across 17 innings over his last two starts and he's fifth in the National League with 36 walks and seventh with 106 strikeouts.

Johnny Cueto (5-7, 4.42 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) will make his 16th start of the season for the Giants. The right-hander allowed just two earned runs on five hits (one home run) and zero walks with four strikeouts over seven innings of a 9-0 setback against the Braves last Monday. Cueto has now lost his last three decisions, he has just one win in his past nine starts and he's 2-2 with a 4.19 ERA in six home starts. Cueto has been too inconsistent and deGrom is finally healthy and pitching up to his potential, so I'm adding the Mets +101 to my MLB picks.
