Sports handicapper provides an MLB odds preview of Thursday afternoon's NL West battle between the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

San Francisco Giants vs. Colorado Rockies
The Giants and Rockies battle in the finale of a three game series on Thursday afternoon. I am always interested in looking at a starting pitcher’s previous history pitching at Coors Field in Denver because it is a very unique and more stressful environment for pitchers than in the majority of other ballparks. Matt Cain gets the start for the San Francisco Giants on Thursday and his track record in this ballpark isn’t that great as he enters with a 4.45 ERA in 15 career starts at Coors Field and he has allowed 13 runs on 18 hits in 15.1 innings of work over his last three April/May starts here at Coors Field since 2014. It’s also worth noting that Cain didn’t have a very solid spring either as he issued more walks than strikeouts in his spring outings. That’s bad news against a potent Colorado lineup that has averaged 5.29 runs per game so far this season.

Christian Bergman will be the starter for the Rockies and he is a mediocre at best option as a starting pitcher in my opinion. He will be in very tough against a very underrated and strong San Francisco Giants lineup from top to bottom. San Francisco doesn’t have that one big time superstar slugger but they have a terrific and well balanced 1 thru 9 in the batting order and a group of hitters that consistently do not strike out often and provide quality at-bats. San Francisco has averaged over 6 runs per game this season and they have fared relatively well against Bergman who has a 4.32 ERA against the Giants and also has struggled at Coors Field with a bloated 6.39 ERA in 7 starts in this ballpark.

Betting Analysis
We should see potential for late runs in this game too, especially from the Colorado bullpen which has an MLB worst 7.84 ERA this season. I'd like San Francisco to emerge victorious in this game since they are worth a look at -130 on the MLB odds, specifically at BetCRIS. However, an even stronger MLB pick recommendation in this game is to look Over the total of 11.5 runs featuring two capable lineups, two suspect starting pitchers and a pair of bullpens that could be prone to giving up runs late in the game and it’s worth noting that two of Colorado’s three daytime home games at Coors Field this season have soared Over the total.
