The LA Dodgers and San Diego Padres begin their 3 game weekend series at Petco Park. Join us in this informative betting preview and cash in our Free MLB Pick!

This has been a one sided series in which the Dodgers hold a record of 10-2 including 6 consecutive victories as well as 6 consecutive victories at this site.

When we have history such as that on our side along with the better OPS numbers in batting, starting pitching and bullpen, we must give serious consideration for that side. Considering the run line history of each and the current MLB odds, we are eager to lay the runs with the Dodgers as one of our MLB picks at this run line price.

The San Diego Padres continue to meander through another losing season. At the quarter pole, they are 17-23 with an 8-12 home record right on pace of their expectations. They are the 29th ranked batting OPS at .645and a declining bullpen (from previous seasons) with a .748 OPS, 21st in MLB. Friedrich does not appear to be the answer. Do not be fooled by the 1.50 ERA YTD.

That came in 6 IP of work in a 1-0 loss to Milwaukee when he allowed just 4 hits but issued 7 walks. Last year with Colorado, Friedrich was 0-4 with a 5.25 ERA. He has been battered by the Dodgers. In 10 appearances out of the bullpen, Friedrich has worked 7 IP with a 9.00 ERA.

The LA edges are clear with a .700 OPS batting number and the #6 ranked OPS bullpen at .650. Do not be fooled by the 4.89 ERA of Kazmir. He began the year with a 6.63 ERA after 4 starts. Since that time, his next 4 starts have seen him work to a 3.67 ERA. But it is his outstanding return to form start in his previous outing that peeks my interest. In a 5-3 win vs. St. Louis, Kazmir worked 7 IP allowing just 2 ER on 5 hits with a 7/1 KBB. No reason he does not continue that excellence against a team who in 3 starts has posted a 3.18 ERA.

No problem playing this game on the run line considering that 17/21 LAD wins have come by 2 or more runs. While in the last 1+ years, 42/54 San Diego home losses (that’s 78%) have come by 2 or more runs.
