This handicapper breaks down the MLB odds for Sunday’s AL West clash between the Angels and Mariners. Join us in reading this revealing betting preview article that concludes with his pick on the total.

AL West Four-Game-Series Concludes in Seattle on Sunday
The Angels and Mariners conclude a four game series on Sunday at Safeco Field in Seattle. The first pitch is slated for 4:10 PM ET. The Mariners have taken two of the first three games. The Angels are 7-5 this season versus Seattle, and eight of those twelve games went under the total.

Starting Pitchers
The Angels will send their young southpaw Andrew Heaney to the mound on Sunday. Heaney has gone a perfect 3-0 in his team starts since being called up from the minors. He’s certainly earned those results by posting a terrific 1.77 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, and compiling just short of a 6:1 strikeout to walk ratio. This will be his first career start versus Seattle.

The Mariners Tijuan Walker is coming off a shaky performance in his last start. However, I’m willing to disregard that performance, especially since it came versus Detroit who’s been the hottest hitting team in baseball during the past three plus weeks. Even despite that occurrence, Walker has gone 7-1 in his previous eight team starts while posting a superb 2.32 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and struck out 54 while walking just 4.

Reasons for Going Under the Total
The Angels are currently a +107 money line underdog according to Sportsbetting. They’ve gone 21-11 under the total this season when installed as a money line underdog of +100 or more. The Halos have struggled offensively during 22 day games this year, averaging just 3.0 runs per contest, and possessing a poor .212 team batting average.

The Mariners will be facing an opponent today that averages 2.64 extra base hits per game in 2015. Seattle has gone 26-8 under the total this season versus opponents which average 2.75 or less extra base hits per game. The Mariners possess a terrible .210 team batting average in 2015 during their 26 day games.

Final Analysis
If you haven’t figured it out already, I like this game to be scoring one for one of my MLB picks on Sunday. Both starting pitchers look to be more than up to the task, and Safeco Field is far from a hitter friendly ballpark. It’s Heritage sports book that provides us with the best price regarding a wager on going under the total.

MLB Picks: Play on the Angels and Mariners under 7.0 (+105)
