Drew Hutchison has had two forgettable starts versus the New York Yankees this season, which will cause the Toronto Blue Jays to drop the series finale Wednesday night. Let’s take a closer look at the MLB betting lines for this American League East affair.

Trying times
New York has dropped four games in a row, including a 7-6 setback to Toronto as +117 road underdogs Tuesday, while going over the betting total for a third consecutive contest.

The Yankees have gone 10-11 in their last 21 games at this ballpark, while shortstop Derek Jeter has put together a .348 batting average in his last five overall games in the series.

MLB handicappers will find that the Bronx Bombers are 4-1 on the road with a money line of -100 to -125, with the 'under' cashing in four of those five opportunities.

A rare feat
Toronto is searching for its first three-game sweep of New York since Sept. 19-21, 2000, but it has produced a 6-7 record at home with a money line of -100 to -125 this season. Blue Jays outfielder Melky Cabrera is one of the main players to watch in this affair, considering he’s hit safely in 20 of his last 21 games versus one of his former teams.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the franchise is 41-34 in the month of June, with the 'under' going 41-32-2 in that situation.

Yankees starting pitcher Hiroki Kuroda (4-5, 4.23 ERA) didn’t earn a decision in a 5-3 home victory over the Baltimore Orioles last time out, as he surrendered two runs and four hits over six frames. The right-hander is 1-3 with a 3.70 ERA in seven road efforts, with opposing hitters batting .264 against him (.257 at home).

In eight lifetime starts versus the Blue Jays, Kuroda has registered a 4-3 record and 3.81 ERA, including a 1-3 mark and 5.65 ERA in five trips to the mound at this venue.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Drew Hutchison (5-5, 3.86 ERA) has alternated wins and losses over his last three appearances, as he looks to bounce back from a 6-4 road defeat to the Yankees—giving up four runs and six hits over 4.1 innings of work. The right-hander is 1-3 with a 8.72 ERA in five home starts, as he’s served up seven home runs in just 21.2 combined frames.

Hutchison allowed six runs and six hits in 3.1 innings in a 6-4 home loss to the Bronx Bombers on April 6.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Yankees as one of their MLB picks, as they’ve captured five of Kuroda’s last seven starts in this rivalry.
