Who has the MLB betting edge Max Scherzer or Brandon McCarthy? How about between Alfredo Simon or Corey Kluber? We’ll disclose the answers in this revealing sports wagering article.

Detroit Tigers (Scherzer) vs. New York Yankees (McCarthy) 7:05 PM ET
The Tigers starter Max Scherzer has gone 6-1 in his last 7 against the money with an outstanding 2.08 ERA and an almost 5:1 strikeout to walk ratio. The 2013 American League Cy Young award winner has gone 6-1 in his last 7 against the money when facing the Yankees. In 11-starts on the road this season he has a solid 3.47 ERA and a 4:1 strikeout to walk ratio.

The Yankees starter Brandon McCarthy has been a rejuvenated pitcher after being traded to the Yankees by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He’s managed to go a perfect 4-0 against the money with his new team, posting a stellar 2.55 ERA, and a 5:1 strikeout to walk ratio. Compare that to his numbers while with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the description of being rejuvenated may be a vast understatement. McCarthy was a dismal 4-14 against the money with Arizona this season, and posted a lofty 5.01 ERA in those outings.

I know that Brandon McCarthy has been impressive with the Yankees thus far. The fact of the matter is he’s due to be exposed, and against a powerful Tigers lineup there’s a good possibility tonight might be the night that occurs. Max Scherzer looks like he’s regaining the dominant form over his last 7-starts in which he displayed a season ago. Apply this betting advice at a trusty sportbook like BetCris, as I give the MLB wagering nod to Scherzer of the Tigers over McCarthy of the Yankees.

Cincinnati Reds (Simon) vs. Cleveland Indians (Kluber) 7:05 PM ET
The Reds starter Alfredo Simon has had a terrific year thus far. The native of the Dominican Republic has gone 15-6 against the money in 2014, with a shining 2.84 ERA, and a 1.10 WHIP. He’s been very profitable on the road this season, going 9-2 in his team starts, and has shown a profit of +8.33 units against the money line.

The Indians starter Corey Kluber has been absolutely on fire over his last 7-starts with a superb 1.32 ERA, a 0.73 WHIP, and better than 9:1 strikeout to walk ratio. He’s tossed a couple of complete game shutouts in his last 2-starts. While pitching those pair of gems he allowed just 5-hits and didn’t allow a walk. The Indians new found ace of the staff has gone 8-3 against the money at home in 2014, with a very good 2.68 ERA, and 0.99 WHIP.

These two pitchers are unquestionably both in the process of having the finest seasons of their careers. However, it’s hard to argue with the efficiency and dominance that Kluber has shown of late, in addition he’ll be facing a Reds team that’s struggled to score runs over the last few weeks. My starting pitcher betting edge here goes to Kluber of the Indians over Simon of the Reds.
