Kansas City grabbed Game 1 of this ALCS with Toronto Friday night, cashing in as a home dog on the MLB odds. Can the Royals do it again Saturday against Jays ace David Price?

Blue Jays-Royals ALCS Game 2 Odds
As of early Saturday morning the best MLB odds we could find on Toronto with David Price was the -143 offered at Heritage, while Kansas City with Yordano Ventura was getting +139 at 5Dimes.

Also, 5Dimes was now chalking KC at -145 to win this AL championship series, with the Blue Jays now getting +125.

The Situation
Kansas City grabbed Game 1 of this best-of-seven affair Friday night 5-0, as starter Edinson Volquez and three relievers held that dangerous Toronto lineup to just three singles on the night.

This season series is now tied at four games apiece, with the UNDERS going 4-3-1.

We whiffed on our free MLB pick on Friday's game with the Blue Jays, as the offense came up totally empty.

ALCS Game 2 Mound Match-Up
Ventura (13-8, 4.08) went 12-for-28 on quality starts this season, finishing two for his last two. He then started twice in the ALDS against Houston, giving up six runs in seven innings of work; Kansas City lost Game 1 by a 5-2 tally, but rallied to win Game 4 by a 9-6 margin.

The Royals are 17-13 in Ventura's starts this season, with the UNDERS going 14-12.

In his one start this season against Toronto Ventura gave up five runs in seven innings, including home runs to Josh Donaldson and Jose Bautista, in a game KC eventually won 7-6 back in August.

Price (18-5, 2.45) went 22-for-32 on quality starts during the regular season, nine-for-11 after coming over to the Blue Jays in that trade with Detroit back in late July. He then started Game 1 of the ALDS against Texas, giving up five runs through seven innings in a 5-3 loss, then threw three innings of relief in Game 4, coming in with a 7-1 lead, leaving with an 8-4 advantage, in an 8-4 Jays victory.

Toronto is 9-3 in Price's starts, with the UNDERS going 6-5-1.

In two starts this season against KC, both when he was still a Tiger, Price allowed five ER through 15 1/3 innings; Detroit won both those games.

ALCS Game 2 Batting Splits
Toronto led the Majors this season against right-handed pitching with both a .335 team on-base percentage and a .455 team slugging percentage. However, last night the Jays were held totally in check by four Kansas City righties.

KC, on the other hand, ranked 11th against left-handed pitching with a .323 team OBP and 15th with a .406 team slugging percentage.

Ballpark Totals Factor
Games played at Kauffman Stadium during the regular season leaned toward the UNDERS by a 38-36 margin, as they averaged 8.5 runs per. Friday's game played UNDER a total of eight runs.

Injury Update
Toronto slugger Edwin Encarnacion tweaked a finger Friday night, left the game, and is uncertain for Saturday, and beyond.

ALCS Game 2 Free Picks
We give Price an edge in the pitching match-up, and Toronto an edge with the sticks. The Jays went 0-for-seven with RISP Friday night, but they're better than that. So we'll take Toronto to even this series at a game apiece Saturday.

MLB Picks: Blue Jays -143 at Heritage
