MLB prop betting takes mounds of research and combing through hours of stats to find the perfect odds. At Sportsbook Review we have complied a daily report of the best prop betting matchups on Wednesday’s slate.

MLB Wednesday: Gimme 5

Didi Gregorius vs. David Price

Didi Gregorius returned to the lineup Tuesday after a couple of days off, and the Yankees proceeded to get waxed by Chris Sale and the Red Sox 14-1. That’s one of those losses you have to just ignore and live to fight another day, and Gregorius might do just that tonight against David Price. Gregorius collected two hits Tuesday, though, and if he can keep up that momentum into tonight he’ll be an excellent prop bet against Price. Gregorius owns a lifetime .444 batting average in 28 plate appearances against Price, with one home run and five RBI. If you get the right number for Gregorius versus Price on the MLB odds board, lean toward the Gregorius side of things with your MLB picks.

Gary Sanchez vs. David Price

Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez has been dealing with a calf injury that kept him out of the lineup for a few days. However, Sanchez is expected to play tonight, and he is just one of the many Yankees who have had success against Price. The Yankees are hitting .336 lifetime against Price, with Sanchez contributing four home runs among his five hits off the Red Sox left-hander.

Yonder Alonso vs. Jordan Zimmerman

Indians first baseman Yonder Alonso is off to a slow start this season, hitting .167 over his first 36 at-bats. Things could soon turn around for the slugger, though, as he has a good matchup tonight against the Tigers’ Jordan Zimmerman. Alonso is a career.375 hitter against Zimmerman in 16 plate appearances. Alonso has five extra-base hits, including three homers, off Zimmerman. If you can get some deflated odds on Alonso’s runs, hits and RBI tonight, it could be the day to bet on Alonso breaking out of the slump.

James Shields vs. Rays Hitters

White Sox pitcher James Shields didn’t have a great first start of the season, but he followed it up with a quality start and a win against the Tigers. Today, Shields has a good matchup against the lineup of the Rays. Shields spent the first seven years of his career in Tampa Bay, and he probably will be extra motivated today. Shields has faced the Rays a few times since leaving after the 2012 season, and Tampa Bay's batters have struggled to hit him. In just less than 100 Rays hitters faced since then, those batters own a .172 average with just one home run and five RBI. Shields isn’t going to strike out many batters, but if you can get odds on his innings pitched, it might be a strong wager in a matchup Shields has dominated.

Luis Perdomo vs. Rockies Hitters

Any time a pitcher goes into Coors Field, it’s going to be a struggle. Today's game might be a nightmare for the Padres’ Luis Perdomo, who has struggled against the Rockies. Colorado’s hitters own a .365 lifetime batting average off Perdomo, with 10 extra-base hits (five homers) and 18 RBI over 85 at bats. Perdomo ERA in nine career innings at Coors Field is 8.00, so the Rockies should be heavy chalk today at home.
