Here at Sportsbook Review, we have compiled a daily report of the best MLB prop betting matchups that the Saturday, August 11 slate has to offer.

Yonder Alonso (Indians) vs. James Shields (White Sox)

Yonder Alonso doesn’t get much playing time when the Indians are up against a left-handed pitcher, but when a righty like James Shields is on the hill, Alonso represents great fantasy and prop betting value. Alonso owns a .344 wOBA and .216 isolated power against right-handers this season, and he has beaten up on the right-handed Shields a lot in his career.

Yonder Alonso gives the Tribe a 1-0 lead with a solo shot in 2nd. That gives him 20 homers on the year. It also gives the Indians an MLB-leading four players with 20+ homers this season.

Alonso owns a 4-for-12 (.333) batting clip versus Shields, with a double, three home runs, and five RBI. If he can keep up his hot hitting on Saturday, Alonso is one of the better prop options on the night slate.

Andrelton Simmons (Angels) vs. Edwin Jackson (Athletics)

Andrelton Simmons hasn’t seen a ton of Edwin Jackson over his career, but among those 13 plate appearances, they have generally gone Simmons’ way. Simmons is 4-for-13 (.302) with a homer, a double, and three RBI versus Jackson in his career.

On top of that, Simmons is off to a hot month of August. This season has been great for Simmons at the plate, but he is owning this month with a 12-for-31 (.387) average heading into play on Friday. He’s not a great home run threat, but Simmons could pay off a total bases, or runs, hits, and RBI prop bet against Jackson.

Evan Gattis (Astros) vs. Wade LeBlanc (Mariners)

Evan Gattis got some time off earlier this week, but he should be in the DH spot on Saturday for the Astros as they face off against the Mariners and Wade LeBlanc. Gattis has not been as good at home this season as he’s been on the road, but he has had a lot of career success against LeBlanc.

Gattis is 6-for-11 (.545) in his career against the southpaw, with three home runs, five total extra base hits, and six RBI. That is a small sample size, but it adds up to an impressive 2.129 OPS and a fine prop wager on Saturday.

Yolmer Sanchez (White Sox) vs. Trevor Bauer (Indians)

Yolmer Sanchez does own a home run off of Trevor Bauer in his career, so you can consider that in your decision making for his prop bets on Saturday. However, if you also count the other 25 plate appearances versus Bauer, you may want to consider fading Sanchez. The White Sox’ infielder is only 1-for-25 (.040) with 12 strikeouts against Bauer in his career, so outside of that lone homer Sanchez has had zero success off the Indians’ righty.

Jason Heyward (Cubs) vs. Tanner Roark (Nationals)

Jason Heyward is giving the Cubs a great season at the plate, and he has been batting in the heart of the order lately for the north-siders. However, he is in a tough spot on Saturday afternoon against Tanner Roark. Heyward has faced Roark 20 times in their careers, and Heyward is 0-for-18 with a pair of walks against the right-hander. Usually Heyward is solid versus right-handed pitching, but against Roark, he could be an opportunistic fade.
