I can see why people would hesitant to back a MLB odds total as high as ten. But I like Giants and Rockies to continue their good hitting from yesterday and turn in another slug fest.

The Line
Ten is a big number in MLB odds board when it comes to totals, but in Colorado is not unheard of in the least. Yesterday the Giants and Rockies went for 27 hits and 19 runs total, but 16 of those runs were scored from the 7th inning on. It would seem that the under might be the smarter play, but with the pitching matchup I think this game could go over the total again with some runs to spare.

Chris Heston gets the start for the Giants and comes in with a 3.72 ERA and 1.30 WHIP, not bad but he has only pitched in 11 major league games.  Also his ERA on the road this year is just below 5.00 and he already had a rough outing in Colorado once season allowing six earned off of 11 hits. This will be the third time already this year he has face the Rockies. Jordan Lyles takes the mound for the Rockies, and he comes in with a 4.53 ERA and 1.43 WHIP. This year he has been a little better at home with an ERA of 3.51 but batters are hitting .281 against him in Colorado.

In the last three games the Giants are ranked 4th in the league in slugging percentage and the Rockies are ranked 11th in that time frame.  But the stat I like the most when looking at totals outside of the pitchers is on base percentage and in the last three games the Giants are ranked 4th in the league at .354 and the Rockies 2nd at .379.

Should be some fireworks today and I anticipate both pitchers to struggle a bit and the offenses to keep clicking.  Add the Over to your MLB picks with confidence.
