The Milwaukee Brewers have been a major disappointment thus far this season. They've lost their last 3 games and 7 out of their last 10 games. They now must face the wrath of pitcher Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants. Will the Brew Crew show up or will this game get ugly? See what we think with our betting pick.

First pitch is set for 8:10 p.m. ET tonight at Millers Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The MLB odds set up very nicely for a superior team in San Francisco with Madison Bumgarner starting as the Giants are a -131 betting favorite and the total for the game is 7.5 runs.

A Matter of Run Support
This has always been an issue with the Giants throughout the years as pitching has always carried them. Tonight is more of the same as Bumgarner carries a 5-2 record with a 2.84 ERA.

This is a top-flight pitcher who is coming off of a masterful start against the Dodgers in which he picked up his 2nd consecutive victory. In that start, he pitched 6 1/3 of scoreless innings and struck out 6 batters. The Giants don't mind allowing Bumgarner to pitch over 100 pitches, therefore he can eat up a lot of innings and possibly the Milwaukee offense along with it.

It's really up to guys like Hunter Pence, Joe Panik, and Brandon Belt to belt out a few hits and runs to support Madison Bumgarner.

Nori Aoki
This was a player that I was never high on, but the move to Northern California has done wonders for his career. Aoki's game is all about speed and getting on base. Thus far this season, he's done a spectacular job of doing what the Giants need.

For the season, the leadoff man is hitting .312 with 2 HR and 15 RBI. He's coming off of a 4 for 4 perfornance yesterday with a homer and 2 RBI in the win over the Brewers and is hitting .455 this past week. Aoki could be a factor tonight, but the Giants couldn't ask for more than what they got from the native of Japan.

The Potential Is There
Milwaukee has no shortage of stars in their lineup when you look at guys like Carlos Gomez, Ryan Braun, Khris Davis, Adam Lind, and Aramis Ramirez. That's a deep team. Most of these players have underperformed, but nobody questions their ability. Even off of the PED's, Ryan Braun can still be a star in this league and Carlos Gomez is one of the best leadoff men in the league.

Gomez is unique in that he can provide power and speed. Thus far, Gomez has gotten off to a shaky start at .268 with 4 HR, 18 RBI. The Brewers won't be a winning team if Gomez doesn't produce. He's the player that brings some emotion to the team and thus far we haven't seen that. I can remember a game in which Noah Synedergaard of the Mets completely embarrassed Gomez before beaning him with the baseball. Plain and simple, Carlos Gomez needs to get his swag back.

When Ryan Braun leads the Brewers squad with a .272 batting average, you know that the Brewers are having a poor season.

This is a great spot for the Giants as they have Madison Bumgarner facing a Brewers team that simply isn't hitting. The Giants have always found a way to pick up timely hits combined with great pitching to win. Yesterday, they didn't need that and tonight I'm looking for the same results with pretty respectable odds for one of my MLB picks.
