In search of betting value for our Wednesday MLB picks we found the Giants seeking to complete a three-game sweep of the woeful Brewers at Miller Park with a nice angle worth checking out.
Wednesday's Betting Odds
In the early betting most books, somewhat inexplicably, were listing Milwaukee and Mike Fiers at around -115 over San Francisco and Ryan Vogelsong, with MLB odds offering a total of 8.5 runs.
San Francisco has taken the first two games of this series, after winning Tuesday night 6-3. The Giants got six decent innings from starter Madison Bumgarner Tuesday and hit three homers.
Frisco is now 18-7 this month, and 9-2 since getting OF Hunter Pence back from injury.
Milwaukee, meanwhile, is now 9-13 under manager Craig Counsell.
Fiers started slowly this season, but perhaps he's on the improve, allowing two runs in each of his last three starts, covering 17 innings, with 15 strikeouts against three walks. Also, each of his last three starts have played UNDER the totals.
In his only career start against the Giants, last August, Fiers held them to three runs through seven innings, with nine strikeouts, although the Brewers lost that game 3-1.
After a couple of burps earlier this season Vogelsong is going pretty good at the moment; he's three for his last four in quality starts, after throwing six scoreless innings against Colorado last Friday, and over his last four starts he's allowed just three runs through 25 2/3 innings. San Francisco has won his last four starts.
Vogelsong started twice against Milwaukee last year, allowing just three runs through 13 innings; the Giants won both those games.

San Francisco's lineup ranks as one of the best this season against right-handed pitching, while the Milwaukee lineup ranks as one of the worst against righties. So we expect the Giants to complete the sweep today. Also, the totals are 15-9 on the OVERS in games played at Miller Park this season, so we're thinking OVER.
