The Giants snapped a three-game slide with a win over their NL West rivals, the LA Dodgers, last night. Let's check out what the MLB odds makers are dealing on this divisional tilt tonight.

After wrapping last week with an easy win, courtesy of a 10-3 Kansas City victory over the White Sox on Sunday, we took Monday off and come to think of it should have taken yesterday off as well. I say that because I dared to fade my beloved Red Sox, a team that is absolutely steamrolling divisional opponents, and included the Baltimore Orioles in my MLB picks last evening. The Sox made me pay with a 5-2 win over the O's at Camden Yards and now we turn our attention West with a critical game between the Giants and the NL West-leading Dodgers. Let's take a peek at this matchup, as well as the MLB odds, and go get this!

San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles

Dodgers Prediction & Betting Analysis
The Giants are in the midst of a crucial four-game set with the Dodgers and though a divisional title seems unlikely, as they trail LA by five games with 11 left on their regular season slate, a wildcard spot is definitely theirs for the taking. But the issue at hand for the Giants is that there are only two wildcard slots available but three teams with identical 80-71 records. San Francisco helped their cause immensely with a 2-0 decision over LA last night and will look for a repeat tonight.

In order to facilitate that desired result, the Giants will send veteran southpaw Matt Moore (11-11, 4.06, 1.30) to the hill. Moore was acquired at the trade deadline from Tampa Bay and has been erratic since donning a Giants' uniform. Some speculate he has been overthrowing the ball as his walks and strikeouts have both seen an uptick since coming over to his new National League home. However, his last pair of outings has been decent as he held the Diamondbacks to two runs on eight hits over eight innings in a 5-3 victory and then limited the Cardinals to two runs over five innings of work in an 8-2 Giants win. Moore is 2-1 against the Dodgers this season and was dazzling in his last outing on August 25th when he fell just one out short of a no-hitter in LA.

As good as the Dodgers are and despite that Kent Maeda (15-9, 3.24, 1.10) is on the hill for Big Blue, I am siding with the Giants and Matt Moore. Neither offense is tearing it up and Moore is returning to the scene of perhaps the best performance of his career, just under a month ago. Let's watch Moore recreate a little of that magic, get his team a badly needed win and get a live dog in the process.
