We like to add player props to our wagers, but this time we'll increase our bankrolls with series props MLB picks and assist the betting public in going to the pay window.

Chicago Cubs vs. New York Mets

New York Mets -115
Chicago Cubs -105

We just finished a write-up with the Mets and Cubs facing each other tonight. The Cubs are a betting favorite on the road according to MLB odds and have lost 5 straight games while Jonathan Niese looks to hold onto his job as the Mets are currently on a 4 game winning streak. I stated that the Cubs had the better current offense with Anthony Rizzo and rookie Kris Bryant. What I didn't state is that Curtis Granderson has been on fire as of late.

Grandy Has Been Dandy
Granderson has the perfect swing for CitiField and the Mets can surely use the offense. He's increased his batting average to .259 and it's never been that high since he's been a member of the New York Mets. In the last week, Granderson is hitting an amazing .458 with 4 HR and 6 RBI. The Mets can surely use his offense in this series.

I think that the Mets will win the first game of the series and that would only leave them to win 1 more game to win this prop. New York will start Jacob deGrom and he's been an ace right from the get go, striking out everything in sight and taking total command of games. The Cubs have lost 5 straight games and the Mets will win this series hands down.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Detroit Tigers

Detroit Tigers -130
Pittsburgh Pirates -EV

The Tigers have won their last 2 games, but have had a disappointing season at 39-36. This baseball team with the best player in baseball in the last decade and one of the best of all times in Miguel Cabrera is a much better team than the way that they have been playing.

The Tigers have had a shortage of runs, but have started to hit. Even Miguel Cabrera's power numbers are a bit low for him as he's on pace for a 30 HR, 100 RBI season. Although Cabrera doesn't have the power of a Giancarlo Stanton, he hits .350 and that's simply off the chart as his hand to eye coordination is the best in baseball and that's why his average is so high.

The Pirates, who have a long way to catch the Cardinals with a 42-33 record and trailing the Redbirds by 9 games, have had another strong season. They should give Detroit a fight, but playing at Commerica Park gives the Tigers the edge and I think that the Tigers offense is a bit better despite dropping off a bit this season.

While Josh Harrison has been the disappointment of the season with only 4 HR, 22 RBI, and a ,278 batting average, Starling Marte has taken his place. For the season, Marte has 12 HR, 46 RBI, 15 SB,and a .279 BA. More importantly, Marte has gotten timely hits. He's needed to step up as Andrew McCutchen has gotten off to a sluggish start also.

Good Pitching Wins Games
I've said this all along and although the Pirates offense hasn't been the best, their starting rotation has been superb. A,J. Burnett (6-3, 2.01), Gerrit Cole (11-3, 2.16), and Francisco Liriano (11-3, 3.21) have been the best 1 through 3 starters on any team. Burnett should think twice about retiring as he's pitching better than the ace of the staff. We look at the schedule and the Tigers will see all 3 of these starters. That's all that I need to know as we think Pittsburgh will win this series.
