On Friday, we have a full card for baseball totals to choose from. Having nailed eight of 12 since writing this article on a semi-regular basis, my confidence is rather high.

For MLB picks on totals for today, I will trot out three selections, all divisional battles from both leagues.

Left Coast Contest Faces Shortage of Runs

San Diego's long road trip continues in Los Angeles. In spite of just a 2-5 record on the trip, the Padres have scored above their season average of 3.8 runs per game in putting up 4.3. That could very well change at Dodger Stadium and facing Rich Hill (8-4, 3.47 ERA). The Dodgers' lefty has allowed three runs or less in his past eight starts. With total listed at 8.5, all you have to think about is Hill being 17-6 UNDER when the total is 7 to 8.5 the last two years and the fact San Diego only scores 3.3 RPG versus port-siders.

Halos and Mariners Climb Over the Number

The Angels' bats were ready Thursday and knocked around the Mariners' James Paxton, who had been on a major roll, and finished off Seattle with Mike Trout's bases-clearing double in the ninth inning for the victory. With the total at 9.5 for MLB odds from the sportsbooks, that seems low considering we are talking about starting pitchers Ricky Nolasco (5-12, 5.09 ERA) for L.A. and Marco Gonzales (0-0, 12.27) for the M's. Both clubs are averaging nearly five runs a contest in their past seven games, and with two starting pitchers like this each team will have an excellent opportunity to reach that same level of scoring by the sixth inning.

Free MLB Pick: 'Over' 9.5Best Line Offered: Heritage

Red Sox and Yankees Fall Short of Total of 9.5

I can hear the complaints already, Boston and Yankees on TV again, it seems like they broadcast all 19 games every season! While not everyone wants to watch them play, the ratings are always there. Some of us watch for different reasons, and with the total at 9.5, we might have a chance to make some cash. The Red Sox have taken command of the AL East by winning eight straight and will send Eduardo Rodriguez (4-3, 4.08) to the slab, and he is 4-1 with a 2.66 ERA in seven career starts against the Yankees. We note Rodriguez is 9-0 UNDER if the BoSox are off three or more consecutive wins. With Boston a +125 pooch, the Red Sox left-hander is also 8-0 UNDER as a road underdog of +100 or higher.
