Hopefully you survived or thrived in the first month of making your MLB picks, as April can be tricky. As we head into the second month as MLB baseball handicappers, things will stabilize.

This does not mean the betting odds will be any easier to beat, rather performance levels of teams and players will start to settle in and reading the numbers from sportsbooks like GT Bets will be easier to understand, but you still have too chose the right side for MLB picks.

Recently, I have had a good run for these articles and let’s see if I can improve on 12-3 mark.

Rays vs. Orioles: Baltimore’s Frustration Could Boil Over in Clearwater
The Orioles organization did the right thing in moving this series away from Baltimore this weekend, but I question for not flipping one of their two remaining series with Baltimore, more specifically one on July 24 to 26th. Yes that would have meant Tampa Bay would have to play 14 of 17 on the road after the All-Star break, however they will now play 16 of 22 at home, though three of these they will now the “away” team. A little compassion can go a long way.

Anyways, more than one Baltimore player has stated their opinion they are less than impressed with what the Rays franchise has chosen to do and I look for O’s players to be very focused and starter Alex Colome could be their victim as he makes his season debut. Though Chris Tillman (2-2, 7.58 ERA) has alternated good and bad outings in his four starts, look for this to be a good one and the Orioles win for a six straight time at Tropicana Field and pick up their first-ever win there as a home team with +105 underdog MLB odds.

MLB Pick – Baltimore +105

Pirates vs. Cardinals: St. Louis Look to Continue Home Dominance over Pittsburgh
The Cardinals are -140 favorites over Pittsburgh and it goes beyond Lance Lynn (1-2, 3.63) being a better pitcher than A.J. Burnett. St. Louis is 16-6 in their last 22 home games against the Pirates and is off to a blazing 15-6 start (+7.8 units). Pittsburgh’s problem with the Cards has always been the lack of offense and this season they are averaging 4.0 runs per game and since last year, when the Redbirds are home they are 50-22 against NL teams scoring 4.3 or less runs a game on the season.

The money line number seems like a near perfect fit for Lynn, who is 12-1 as a home favorite of -125 to -150 the last three seasons. (Cardinals Record) Contrast that number with Burnett’s and all the teams he pitched for being 8-33 as a road underdog of +125 to +150. (Team’s record)

You could have a little trepidation with Lynn at 5-4 with a 5.11 ERA against the Bucs, but coming off a poor showing, Lynn and the Cards will be tough to beat.

MLB Pick – St. Louis -140

Athletics vs. Rangers: Rested Kazmir Gives A’s Edge
After a dismal 1-5 homestand, Oakland (9-14, -7.6) might enjoy leaving the Bay Area and will trot out their best pitcher in 2015 to start the road trip with a victory. Athletics manager Bob Melvin elected to give Scott Kazmir an extra day of rest to prepare for this and he’s already a sparkling 2-0 with a 0.99 ERA. The left-hander who fought his way back from injury to be back in the majors again is 4-1 with a 3.18 ERA in five starts against the Rangers.

Kazmir has to be excited to face a 7-14 (-5) Texas club, who is not even close to hitting Prince Fielder’s weight, as collecting the team as a .210 batting average (last in AL) and an on-base percentage of .293, which is 14th in the league.

Colby Lewis (1-2, 3.75) gets the ball for the Rangers and while he done a pretty good job, his teammates have scored 2.63 in his four starts, which forces him to be near perfect. With Texas a miserable 22-42 versus losing teams, gobble up the -145 with Oakland as Kazmir grades out to an A again.

MLB Pick – Oakland -140
