Our MLB handicapping professional shares his top two totals selection on Friday’s card. Read his detailed analysis pertaining to games between the Pirates/Mets and Marlins/Cardinals.

Pirates (Happ) vs. Mets (Colon) 7:10 PM ET
J.A. Happ has displayed horrible form over his previous three starts, posting a gargantuan 12.54 ERA and 2.68 WHIP. Happ has gone 7-4 over the total in eleven road starts this season with a very lofty 5.98 ERA. Pittsburgh has gone 5-1-1 over the total in their previous seven, averaging 6.6 runs per game, and possessing a sizzling .329 team batting average during that stretch.

Bartolo Colon started the Mets 2015 season opener. Ironically, you can certainly make a strong case he’s now the weakest link in an otherwise superb Mets starting rotation. Colon is 1-7 in his last nine starts with a sizable 5.30 ERA. The Mets have averaged a robust 6.4 runs per game over their previous eleven contests.

I like this game to be a high scoring affair for one of my MLB picks. It’s 5Dimes that offers the cheapest money line price pertaining to this totals wager.

MLB Picks: Play the Pirates and Mets over 8.0 (-105)

Marlins (Koehler) vs. Cardinals (Garcia) 8:15 PM ET
Jaime Garcia has been terrific for St. Louis this season, and dominant in his young career when facing Miami. However, Miami has been on a huge offensive roll that can’t be ignored, and especially considering the low posted total on tonight’s game. The Marlins are 6-1 over the total during their previous seven games. During those seven outings, Miami averaged an impressive 6.0 runs per game, amassed a stellar team batting average of .304, and had an off the charts OPS of .800.

The Cardinals pitching has been a major reason why they currently have the best record in baseball. However, they’ll be facing Tom Koehler tonight, and they’ve had a high degree of success against him during the past two seasons. Koehler made one start each in 2013 and 2014 against St. Louis. In those two outings, he posted a mammoth 11.17 ERA, 2.07 WHIP, and both games went over the total. Koehler has also seen each of his last three starts overall surpass the number, and he was a major contributor to those high scoring games based on his 7.72 ERA.

This has all the ear marks of a high scoring contest regardless of Garcia being on the mound. Make sure to shop your total before making this wager. The major sportsboooks are divided between a total of 6.5 and 7.0 for this game. The best combination of number and price resides at Heritage.

MLB Picks: Play the Marlins and Cardinals over 6.5 (-110) at Heritage
