With the 2016 season upon us, let’s take a brief moment to review some important guidelines for the baseball season. Always, look to play on a “dime” line in MLB odds.

This saves you 5% on every wager in the course of the season vs. a “20 cent” line. What you save is what you earn. I have always urged you to play by percentage of bankroll risk in MLB. That is, you risk the same amount on a 3% of bankroll favorite, as you do on a 3% of bankroll underdog. More specifically translated, it means you will win less on your favorite plays and win more on your underdog plays. On the 180-day grind that is MLB, this is essential to the mental, psychological and emotional wellbeing of everyday wagering.

Along our journey, I will be releasing favorites, as well as underdogs, along with my proprietary “run-line dogs” which continue to turn increasing profit each season.  As I mentioned before, we will also be experiencing the opportunities of 5 IP plays. I am well aware that baseball is not the most exciting sport to watch, but you don’t have to watch one inning… just make your plays each day, add the winnings to your bankroll and repeat!  Good Luck!!

In-depth Analysis
Today, the Jays and Rays play Game 2 of their season opening 4-game set. The Jays won (5-3) on Sunday, behind their big bats and emerging ace, Stroman (despite 16 strikeouts by the Toronto bats). Toronto was one of our favorite run-line teams last year with 78 of their 93 wins by 2 or more runs. Today, however, it’s the home-standing Rays who even this series with a distinct pitching matchup in their favor.

Aging Blue Jay starter, Dickey, had knee surgery in the offseason following his mediocre campaign of 2015. In 4 spring starts, he posted a 5.02 ERA that will not lift the confidence of the knuckleballer who, in a pair of recent starts from this mound, has gone 0-2 with a 7.71 ERA.

Far prefer emerging starter, Smyly, who had a great 2nd half of the season last year after returning from injury. The Rays won his final 8 starts, in which he sported a 2.54 ERA. Smyly has also been at his best from this mound when facing the Jays, as in 8 appearances, he has a 2-0 record with a 3.18 ERA. I invite you to put the MLB odds in your favor and join me in my MLB pick on Tampa Bay tonight.
