Here are two underdogs on Thursday night’s card which he deems to have superb betting value. Go inside to read this revealing article and find out what those MLB picks are.

Padres (Friedrich) vs Reds (Lamb) 7:10 PM ET
San Diego starter Christian Friedrich has made three road starts this season and has been outstanding in those appearances. The Padre left-hander posted a microscopic 0.47 ERA during those three San Diego away games.

The Padres will be facing southpaw John Lamb on Thursday. San Diego has gone a dismal 19-32 (.373) against right-handed starters. However, they’re a respectable 11-10 this year when facing southpaw starters, and have averaged 5.6 runs scored per game during those 21 contests.

Speaking of John Lamb, he’s compiled a lofty 4.75 ERA and 1.52 WHIP during nine starts in 2016. What I consider to be a significant statistic regarding to Lamb, he’s averaged just 5.3 innings pitched per start. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist in concluding that the Reds bullpen will be called upon this evening. Cincinnati relievers have been brutal this year, evidenced by a collective 5.99 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and they’ve surrendered 51 home runs in 254.0 innings.

San Diego is 30-43 (.411) entering today. However, Cincinnati is 17-30 (.362) since 2015 against teams with a win percentage of .380 to .460. The Reds are also a futile 14-32 (.318) since 2015 versus NL West teams.

A’s (Graveman) vs Angels (Lincecum) 10:05 PM ET
Kendall Graveman has made three starts versus the Angels since 6/13/15, and posted an excellent 1.29 ERA during those outings. He’s also been very good in his previous two starts overall, compiling a stellar 1.64 ERA, and Oakland won both games.

Veteran right-hander Tim Lincecum makes just his second start of the year this evening. Ironically his 2016 debut was against Oakland and he was very good in that outing. That being said, I have little faith in Lincecum regarding consistency, and my basis for that pertains to his overall performances during recent seasons.

The Angels are a futile 9-22 (.290) this season versus teams with a losing record. They’re also a poor 15-20 (.429) at home. In my professional opinion, betting value clearly lies with the road underdog in this matchup, and one of my Thursday MLB Picks will be indicative of that exact notion.
