Back to the Motor City
The Tigers will host the Orioles on Sunday at Comerica Park in Detroit with the first pitch slated for 3:45 PM ET. According to MLB betting odds, the Tigers are a -175 money line favorite, and the total is 7.5. The Tigers are -1.5 (+125) and the Orioles +1.5 (-145) on the run-line. This will be Game 3 of their ALDS in which the Orioles currently hold a 2-0 lead.

Starting Pitching Matchup
The Orioles will send right-hander Bud Norris to the mound on Sunday afternoon. Norris enters today in terrific form over his last 3-starts by having posted an excellent 1.47 ERA. The Orioles hurler has also gone a perfect 6-0 against the money in his last 6-starts. Norris hasn’t been as sharp on the road compared to how he’s performed at Camden Yards in 2014. In 15-starts on the road he’s compiled a lofty 4.80 ERA. He’s also seen his last 5-starts away from home all go over the total. Norris has gone 0-4 against the money since the start of the 2013 season when facing the Tigers, and posted a large 6.57 ERA in those outings.

The Rays will go with southpaw David Price. The former 2011 Cy Young winner has gone 3-0 against the money in his last 3-starts at home, and had a superb 1.52 ERA. Price has displayed impeccable control during the 2014 campaign. He’s walked just 38 in 248 1/3 innings, and that’s equated to 1 base on balls per 6.5 innings pitched. Price has been far from dominant in his 5-starts versus the Orioles since the start of 2013 season. In those outings, he’s posted a lofty 4.67 ERA, and had an awful 1.81 WHIP.

8th Inning Explosions by the Orioles
The Orioles have scored a total of 19-runs, pounded out 19-hits, and have left just 8-men on base during the first 2-games of this ALDS. They overcame a 6-3 deficit in Game 2 with a 4-run bottom of the 8th. Their 12-3 win in the opening game wasn’t indicative of how close the game was throughout. The Orioles scored 8-runs in the bottom half of the 8th to break open a tight 4-3 game.

Trying to Stave off Elimination
The Tigers have no more room for error if they hope to stay alive in this 2014 postseason. They suffered a gut wrenching defeat at Camden Yards on Friday, and it will be interesting to see how they respond to that bitter disappointment. This is a veteran ball club that will have their character, and resolve, severely tested this afternoon. They had the luxury of sending 3 of the last 4 American League Cy Young winners to the mound in the first 3-games of this ALDS. Unfortunately their bullpen was just horrendous in the first 2-games, and that’s certainly been a glaring weakness for the AL Central champs this season, and reared its ugly head once again at the most inopportune of times.

Final Analysis
There were 28-runs combined in the first 2-games of the series. Considering the offensive potency of both of these teams, and the recent struggles of both starting pitchers against today’s opponents, this has all the ear marks of another high scoring affair. Bet this game to go 'Over' the total for your MLB picks.
