With only seven baseball games to choose from this Monday, have to work extra hard to find value on the card to arrive at three choices for those betting baseball, and I think we have.

Coming off a money-making 5-4 weekend on baseball totals, I will look to improve upon that record for MLB picks and share my thoughts with you today.

Can Cubs Continue To Pound Lefties?

Coming off a disappointing 2-4 homestand against two likely playoff teams, the Cubs head west and will play San Francisco on ESPN tonight. The Chicago bullpen and Joe Maddon in particular had a rough Sunday in blowing winnable contest, yet there's hope this evening against the laboring Giants and their starter Matt Moore. This has been a nightmarish year for Moore at 3-11 with a 5.80 ERA. On the surface, it does not figure to get any better, with the Cubs 18-7 and scoring 6.4 runs a game versus left-handed starters. Though Jake Arrieta has been lowering his ERA in recent starts, the same is not true of the Chicago bullpen, who really had a rough week. With the Cubs decisive favorites against the MLB odds, I uncovered Arrieta is 18-5 'over' as a road favorite of -125 or more since last season and.

I-70 Series Could Get Off To Higher-Scoring Start

In the Show-Me State, the St. Louis vs. Kansas City rivalry is among the best in interleague play. The fans of Missouri are interested in the bragging rights, especially these days with the Royals' resurgence and the Cardinals not at previous levels. In the series opener, Carlos Martinez is facing Ian Kennedy. Martinez has been battling command issues and has walked seven in his past two starts and not spotting his tosses in allowing 21 hits in his three starts covering 17 innings. Kennedy has been his inconsistent self and has a bloated 6.43 ERA in his last three outings. Though neither offense is intimidating, the Cards are 9-2 'over' in interleague action.

Neighboring States Collide In Interleague Action

Milwaukee and Minnesota open up a four-game home-and-home series in the Twin Cities and each is having offensive woes. The Brewers offense is colder than a beer at the bottom of a ice-filled cooler, averaging 2.2 RPG in their last 10 ballgames. The Twins are better, but very up and down, as this is how they have scored in their latest contests: 0,5,1,8,1 and 6. Chances are the Twinkies are not going to find a lot of success against the Brew Crew's Brent Suter ( 3.04 ERA) and the same goes for Milwaukee facing Minnesota ace Ervin Santana (3.28). With the Brewers 9-1 'under' vs. an AL team with a team batting average of .255 or worse this season, back that.
