With the Minnesota Twins right in the thick of it and the Cleveland Indians technically not out of it I expect both offenses to show up today in Cleveland. I'm going to back over the total when these two teams meet and expect some good run production today and a lot of quality at-bats.

Odds makers came out with this game at the total of eight but it is gone down at some places to 7.5. For my over the total MLB pick I'm in a take over the 7.5 at what is at most places regular juice. Right now you can take over the total of 7.5 at Bookmaker Sports Book -110.

Minnesota Twins
Kyle Gibson gets the start for Minnesota and comes in with a 3.96 ERA, 1.30 whip, 136 strikeouts, and a 10-11 record. Just like his counterpart today he recently faced the opposing team today in the Indians just last week. Against them in Minnesota he allowed six earned runs off of seven hits in just under three innings. Usually I would say that this puts him in a pretty good bounce back spot but on the road this year, although batters are hitting just over .250 against him, his ERA jumps up to 4.43 when traveling. I expect the Indians to come in with a lot of confidence today against him.

Minnesota ranks 10th in the major leagues in runs scored per game at 4.36, 22nd in OPS at .709, and 23rd in batting average hitting .248 as a team. I have written about them extensively about the fact that they are a much different home hitting team than they on the road. Today though I like their offense in this spot to break out and score quite a few runs against a pitcher that I think is a little bit overrated and overvalued.

Cleveland Indians
Cody Anderson takes the mound for Cleveland and comes in with a 3.31 ERA, 1.13 whip, 42 strikeouts, and a 6-3 record. The rookie has had a really solid season and against the Twins he has pitched two different games against them. The first time he faced them he allowed six earned runs off of five hits in under three innings, but in his most recent outing against them just last week he allowed just one run in just under seven innings, but allowing 10 hits. The rookie has had a nice season but his home ERA is nothing to shout about at 4.35 with a whip of 1.27. With the Twins getting those 10 hits off him last week but only managing one run I expect them to come into this game and have a lot of quality at-bats.

Cleveland ranks 18th in runs scored per game at 4.15, 13th in OPS at .723, and 11th in batting average hitting .256 as a team. Most of their offensive statistics go up at home and their batting average jumps from .239 on the road to .274 and Cleveland. After getting to Gibson just last week I expect them to do more of the same and battle every pitch because mathematically they are still in it.

For one of your MLB picks I suggest backing over the total in this matchup. With Gibson having poor road numbers this season, and Anderson being a little bit overvalued I like for both of these teams to put up quite a few runs today. I like to use this phrase, and I'll use it today, I don't believe either of these pitchers will get out of this game unscathed. Expect a high final when these two meet in this game with big wildcard implications.
