This MLB handicapping professional has two run-line selections on Sunday that really stand out for their betting value: Tampa Bay Rays vs. Miami Marlins & Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland Athletics.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Miami Marlins 1:10 PM ET

According to the MLB betting odds at Bookmaker, Miami is -1.5 (+147) and Tampa Bay +1.5 (-160) on the run-line. This will be the finale of a four game series in which the Rays won two of the first three.

Nate Karns will make his second start of the season on Sunday for the Tampa Bay Rays. Karns was extremely shaky in his 2015 debut during a 6-5 loss to Baltimore. In that outing, he allowed six earned runs in 5 2/3 innings of work.

Henderson Alvarez will be on the mound for the Marlins for the finale of the series versus Tampa Bay. Alvarez was very sharp in his opening start of the season during a 2-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves. Alvarez allowed only two earned runs on six hits in 7.0 innings pitched. The Marlins right-hander started once versus the Rays a season ago, and tossed a complete game shutout in a 1-0 Miami win.

I look for the Marlins to gain a split of the series versus Tampa Bay by coming away with a decisive win on Sunday. As a result, I’m predicting a Miami win by two runs or more for one of my MLB picks on Sunday.

MLB Picks: Play on Miami -1.5 (+165) on the run-line over Tampa Bay at BetOnline

Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland Athletics 4:05 PM ET
The MLB odds at 5Dimes has Seattle as a -129 money line favorite on Sunday. They also have the Mariners -1.5 (+130) and the A’s +1.5 (-140) on the run-line. You may be very surprised to know that since the start of the 2014 season, Oakland has gone an anemic 3-18 as a money line underdog of +100 or more, and was at a -1.9 run per game differential in those twenty-one games.

Seattle will send their ace Felix Hernandez out to the mound for his second start of the season. Hernandez was brilliant in his first go around during a 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Hernandez allowed just the one earned run, gave up only two hits, struck out ten, and walked one in 7.0 innings of work. When preparing your MLB picks today keep in mind that “King Felix” went 5-1 in his six team starts versus Oakland in 2014, posting a stellar 2.22 ERA, and a superb 0.99 WHIP in those outings.

MLB Picks: Play on Seattle -1.5 (+130) on the run-line over Oakland at 5Dimes.
