After exploding offensively yesterday I am backing the Colorado Rockies on the plus money line to keep the momentum today and upset the Cardinals.

MLB odds makers have come out with the Rockies as the natural underdog in this spot.  Bovada Sports Book has the best odds for them on the open at +126.  Those odds seem pretty low when we get to the pitching matchup, but in Colorado even the best pitchers can struggle.

For the Rockies Jorge De La Rosa takes the mound with a 6.15 ERA and 1.6 WHIP.  He has struggled at home this year, but in his last outing he only allowed four hits in six innings to the Dodgers.  Still, it is early in the season and the three years prior to this one De La Rosa has an ERA under 3.00 in Coors field, and that is impressive.  Michael Wacha is having spectacular year and comes in with an ERA of 2.18 and a WHIP of 1.04.  He is 8-1 on the season and he has not pitched in Colorado since 2013, but in the outing he gave up 12 hits and four earned runs in just four innings, arguably his worst outing as a professional.

The Cardinals are ranked in the middle tier of the league in most offensive categories.  The Rockies are in the top ten and lead the league in batting average.  They are a force to be reckoned with at home hitting right around .300 as a team.

It is easy to see the Cards being favored here with Wacha on the mound and they should be looking for a little revenge.  Still, I like the Rockies to keep rolling today as my MLB pick.

MLB Pick: Rockies +105
