We’re going to breakdown Friday’s MLB game between the Yankees and White Sox. Can the Yankees put a halt to a two game losing streak tonight? Find out what will be our MLB pick.

Yankees invade Comiskey Park for Three Game Series
The White Sox and Yankees open up a three game series tonight at Comiskey Park in Chicago at 8:10 PM ET. This will be the first meeting of the season between these American League clubs.

Starting Pitchers
Nathan Eovaldi gets the starting assignment on Friday for New York. Eovaldi has quietly gone about business in recent outings, and has really made up for a shaky beginning to his 2015 campaign. The right-hander is 6-1 in his last seven team starts with a stellar 2.83 ERA, and that includes 4-0 on the road with a 2.59 ERA.

Carlos Rodon will take the mound on Friday for Chicago. Rodon has been inconsistent this season, and that’s the case for a lot of young pitchers in the early stages of their MLB careers. Case in point, he allowed no earned runs during two of his previous three starts, and sandwiched between those stellar performances was an outing which Rodon allowed 7 earned runs in just 4.0 innings of work. The majority of times when Rodon has struggled this season were a direct result of control issues. The southpaw hurler has walked 40 in 70 2/3 innings. That equates to 5.1 walks per 9.0 innings pitched, and more times than not it’s difficult to overcome. Rodon is 0-2 in his previous two home starts with a mammoth 10.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP. In those two losses he walked 7 in 9.0 innings pitched.

Both Teams on an Offensive Roll
The Yankees have a stellar .299 team batting average over their previous seven games. They’ve also scored 6 runs or more in six of their last eight contests.

The White Sox are hitting a sizzling .322 as a team during their previous seven games. Similar to today’s opponent, they’ve scored 6 runs or more in six of their last eight games as well.

Final Analysis
Despite the Yankees losing the last two nights at Texas, they’ve still gone an outstanding 16-7 in July. As I just alluded to, both teams are hitting very well right now, and that facet of this matchup is a wash. The edge comes in the starting pitching department, and pertains to a surging Nathan Eovaldi over an erratic Carlos Rodon. My lean is on the road team for one of my MLB picks on Friday. It will be 5Dimes that gets my call for this wager based because of their cheapest price in the major sportsbook board.

MLB Pick: Yankees -118 on the money line at 5Dimes.
