Even with the typical short slate on Thursday, I still was able to uncover three baseball totals that should do some profit-building for you as we head into the last holiday weekend of 2017.

After a fairly successful run against the MLB odds, the gambling gods nicked me pretty good last weekend, as I fell to 26-23 record. No question I want to turn the tables on them and get back lost money and I believe the opportunity is there to do so today.

The Runs Keep Coming In the Valley of the Sun

The Diamondbacks offense is as hot as the temperatures in Phoenix as they have scored 24 runs in their past three contests, the last two victories over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Normally you would think when Zack Greinke (3.14 ERA) is taking the ball, a lower scoring outcome is forthcoming and he is 14-9 UNDER this season. However, the D-Backs batters have a lot of confidence and Kenta Maeda (3.76) has a 4.61 ERA on the road. The total of 8.5 from the sportsbooks is justifiable number, but when digging into the numbers for this afternoon affair, Maeda is 9-1 OVER against teams out-scoring their opponents by 0.5 or more runs a game and the Snakes are 15-4 OVER at home after three or more consecutive wins.

Nats and Crew in Low Scoring Showdown

Washington's hitters have gotten over not having Bryce Harper in the lineup and in their last seven encounters, they have averaged 6.3 RPG. Though they are very capable of continuing to keeping the scoreboard flashing, the two starting pitchers in Milwaukee might have other ideas. The Nationals Gio Gonzalez (2.40) has almost been unhittable with 0.79 ERA in his past five starts. The Brewers Zach Davies (4.02) has not exactly been getting tagged, with a 1.37 ERA over three outings. Davies has faced the Nats three times and has a 2.33 ERA. Maybe both pitchers are ripped tonight, but the numbers say otherwise, thus for MLB picks, I will back the UNDER 9.

Keeping Fingers Crossed in Frisco

When you see the name Madison Bumgarner (2.85) and you are thinking about baseball totals, your first thought is UNDER. Recently, when you notice the name Michael Wacha (4.33) of the St. Louis Cardinals, you think of bananas, since he's given up runs in bunches with a 10.22 ERA over three starts. Why I am willing to back UNDER 7.5 is the San Francisco offense has averaged a puny 2.1 RPG in their last 10 tries and Wacha has 1.50 ERA in five career starts against the Giants. Next, I need the bullpens to close the deal. (Fingers crossed)
