We're going to get ready to set off some early fireworks with some MLB Picks of the Day in which we think that you can make a hefty profit, so read this before palcing your bets!

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Pittsburgh Pirates
Everyone that reads these pieces knows that I cover the Sunday Night Baseball game. Now more than ever, being that baseball is the only major US sport that will be going on and the only game in progress on Sunday night will be this on, ESPN has set themselves up nicely for some superb ratings as the best pitcher in the MLB in Clayton Kershaw (11-1, 1.57 ERA) takes the mound for the Dodgers as L.A. play's against Pittsburgh and Andrew McCutchen looking to regain his old form after a two home run game.

The Dodgers (41-35) are a big-time betting favorite and on the road, but they still have work to do to catch the red hot San Francisco Giants in the National League West Division standings, but first they need a victory against the Bucs as both teams close out the series tomorrow afternoon in the only early game on the docket for Monday.

While this maybe a pitching mismatch, Pittsburgh does possess an offense with players that can hit the baseball efficiently and effectively. Can Pittsbburgh pull off the major upset and at such an outstanding value?

Don't Mess With Me!
This is exactly what Clayton Kershaw says to each and every team that he faces and defeats. The last team that he defeated was the Washington Nationals and was facing a 10-0 pitcher in Stephen Strasburg. How much better does it get than that?In his last 10 starts, Kershaw hasn't allowed more than 2 earned runs in any game. He'll provide the Dodgers with at least 100 pitches per outing and has hit the double figure mark in strikeouts in 8 out of his last 10 starts. He is vulnerable to giving up a run or or two, but it's up to the Dodgers somewhat average offense to outshine their opponent.

Kershaw leaves this team in the driver's seat unless his pitch count is high early, which is a rarity. You would have to give Los Angeles a decisive edge despite the Pirates (36-39) possessing hitters such as Starling Marte (6 HR, 28 RB, 20 SB, .328 BA), Gregory Polanco (10 HR, 44 RBI, .298 BA), and Andrew McCutchen (12 HR, 32 RBI, .243 BA).

Pittsburgh has beaten the Dodgers twice in a row and I love the momentum that they're coming into this game with. My only hope is that they'll get to Kershaw early or beat up on the Dodgers bullpen. The value is with Pitt, but make the MLB Picks small and be more of spectator than bettor where this game is concerned.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Colorado Rockies
There are so many runs being scored in this series that no matter what pitcher a team runs out, I'm going to side with the Coors Field air in Colorado and take the over. Of course, the total is placed very high at 12.5 runs to scare the bettor into taking the under, but when these teams are scoring a collective total of 17 and 19 runs in their last two games, the over doesn't scare me.

It's certainly not the talent on the field that's producing such a high total. Year after year if you look at player's splits where statistics are concerned, you'll see that Coors Field is simply a launching pad; sorry Atlanta.

Charlie Blackmon
This player is the perfect example of a player that excels at Coors Field as he's not a home run hitter. He's a leadoff man. For the season, Blackmon is hitting an even .300 and yesterday, bashed is 11th home run of the season to go along with 38 RBI's. He went 2 for 5 with runs scored a home run and 2 RBI.

Colorado is filled with guys like this like D.J. LeMahieu, Carlos Gonzalez, Trevor Story and of course, Nolan Arenado. In my estimation, Arenado is the only legitimate threat on the road along with being at home.

You add in Paul Goldschmidt (14 HR, 47 RBI, .300 BA) of the Diamondbacks and there are so many options to score runs as long as Clayton Kershaw isn't pitching. Take the over on the MLB Odds as these two teams keep scoring and scoring often.
