Angels vs Astros

Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides a look at Overnight Betting Lines and analyzes the MLB Odds for the games taking place on Sunday, July 24.

Los Angeles Angels vs Houston Astros
We cashed an easy winner with the Over in Tim Lincecum’s MLB Odds last start for the LA Angels and that is the same direction I will go here in this game with the struggling reclamation project that is Tim Lincecum on the mound once again for LA as they face the Houston Astros. Lincecum has surrendered 22 runs in his last 22.2 innings of work over his last five starts and was already roughed up once by Houston back on June 28th as the Astros scored 5 runs on 7 hits in 4.1 innings against him. Lincecum has only reached 6 completed innings once in his six starts with the Angels and that should lead to their suspect middle relief of their bullpen being in play for extended time and give the Astros opportunities to cash in against them.

Mike Fiers will be on the mound for Houston and he has struggled in recent starts allowing 10 runs on 10 hits in 7 innings of work over his last two starts combined against Seattle and Oakland with both of those games flying Over the total. Fiers got crushed by this LA Angels lineup earlier this season in his lone start against them in 2016 allowing 7 runs on 8 hits in a very brief 3.2 inning stint back in May. We also have an Over trending umpire with Jerry Layne behind home plate this game calling balls and strikes--the Over is 10-4 in his 14 appearances as the home plate ump this season. I expect this game to feature runs in bunches and find its way up and Over the total for my MLB Pick.
