Detroit Tigers

Sports Handicapper Ian Cameron provides an MLB Early Lines Report for the baseball card taking place on Wednesday, August 24, as he finds value as the Tigers visit the Minnesota Twins.

Detroit Tigers vs Minnesota Twins
This is a reasonable price to back the Detroit Tigers as short road chalk on the MLB odds for Wednesday night in Minnesota against the Twins. Matt Boyd is in good form right now as the Tigers lefty has allowed 3 runs or less in seven straight starts during a span in which Detroit has gone 6-1 in those games and he’s held the Minnesota Twins in check allowing just 2 earned runs in 12 innings pitched over two starts against this lineup in the past. I expect Boyd to pitch well enough to give the Tigers a chance to win this game

On the other side of this pitching matchup is Tyler Duffey who has had plenty of ups and downs this season but more downs as of late including his most recent outing against Kansas City where he got hammered for 5 runs in just 3.2 innings. Duffey has a woeful 6.67 ERA in 11 home starts this season at Target Field and he took the loss in his lone previous start against the Tigers this season back in April allowing 4 runs in 6.1 innings of that game in a game that Detroit won by a score of 4-1. The Minnesota lineup is scuffling held to 6 runs in four games combined against Kansas City over the weekend and they’ve lost 7 of their last 10 games overall. This is a cheap price to support the team with still plenty left to play for in the Detroit Tigers against a Minnesota Twins team that seems to be running on fumes as they wind down the stretch of a disappointing season.
