Our MLB analyst provides a betting preview on Monday’s Yankees and White Sox matinee affair. Go inside to read this compelling article which culminates with an MLB pick.

N.Y Yankees vs. CH White Sox
The Yankees and White Sox open a three game series on Monday. The opening pitch from Comiskey Park in Chicago is slated for 2:10 PM ET.

The Yankees have fared well against the White Sox in recent years. As a matter of fact, New York is 12-5 against Chicago since 2014, and that includes winning two of three at Yankee Stadium in May.

C.C. Sizzling Hot on the Road
Veteran southpaw C.C. Sabathia will get the start this afternoon for the “Bronx Bombers”. He’s coming off a pair of very shaky outings, but both came at Yankee Stadium. Sabathia has been lights out during his last five road starts. During those outings, he’s compiled an excellent 1.20 ERA. Sabathia is an outstanding 19-5 in 34 career starts versus the White Sox with a more than respectable 3.68 ERA.

Shell Shocked Starter
James Shields only gave up 1 earned run in 6.0 innings pitched during his previous start. It’s nothing but fool’s gold after looking at his numbers in that outing. He allowed 6 hits while walking 3, and was extremely fortunate to escape virtually unscathed. During his last six starts, Shields has posted an atrocious 13.70 ERA and 2.74 WHIP. Needless to say, all of those games went over the total.

MLB Betting Angle
Current MLB odds have the Yankees as a -1 money line favorite. C.C. Sabathia has a 1.29 WHIP in 13 starts this year. He’ll be facing a White Sox team which possesses a poor .311 team OBP thus far in 2016. James Shields has an awful 2.10 WHIP over his last three outings. These statistical factors all combine to produce a highly profitable MLB money line betting angle.

Any American League road favorite of -110 or greater, with a starting pitcher (Sabathia) that has a WHIP of 1.30 or better, versus an opponent that possesses a team OBP of .320 or less, and their starting pitcher (Shields) has posted a WHIP of 2.00 or worse over his last three starts, resulted in those road favorites going 39-8 (83%) during the past five seasons. The average money line price in those 47 games was -135, and road teams had a sizable +2.7 run per game differential.

Final Take and Pick
I clearly feel the Yankees have a decided starting pitching advantage with Sabathia over Shields. It’s also difficult to ignore the very successful betting system that was just discussed. “Numbers don’t lie and liars don’t figure”. I’m going with the road favorite in this one for one of my Monday MLB picks.
