Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides an MLB Early Lines Report for the baseball card taking place on Friday, August 19.

Boston Red Sox vs Detroit Tigers
We have been riding Michael Fulmer repeatedly this season and he is a pitcher worth backing once again in this game at a cheap price as his Detroit Tigers host the Boston Red Sox. Fulmer has a 2.25 ERA this season with the Tigers now a sparkling 16-3 in his starts including 5-0 here at Comerica Park where Fulmer has notched an even better 1.41 ERA. He is coming off a complete gem 4 hit shutout gem in Texas against the Rangers and I expect Fulmer to have another strong outing in this one.

Rick Porcello will get the start for Boston and he has been very solid of late too for the Red Sox but he has been somewhat more hittable on the road than at Fenway Park this season and the Boston bullpen behind him has been far from razor sharp lately and has blown each of the 3 games the Red Sox have lost in their last 8 games so if the game is close late, I give the edge to Detroit and their bullpen which has been a bit better lately and while Boston’s pen has a 6.26 ERA in their last 10 games. I’ll look to back the Tigers as my MLB pick once again in this game as they look to make it 17 wins in 20 starts by Michael Fulmer this season.
