Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides a look at MLB Overnight Betting Lines for the games taking place on Saturday, May 28.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Cleveland Indians
Ubaldo Jimenez has been prime ‘bet against’ material for me in recent games and that isn’t about to change here as he faces the Cleveland Indians. Jimenez has been on a downward slope for the last few starts allowing 17 runs on 22 hits in 15 innings of work and has issued more walks than strikeouts during that span showing very pool control and command. He has a woeful 7.02 ERA on the road and Baltimore is a winless 0-3 in Jimenez three road starts this season.

He is a vulnerable pitcher and one the Indians lineup should take advantage of. Cleveland will counter with Danny Salazar who has been solid most of the season and has been even better here at Progressive Field in Cleveland where he owns a 1.23 ERA allowing just 3 runs in 22 innings pitched at home and the Indians won two of his three previous home starts this season. Salazar threw a 7 inning gem against Baltimore on this field last season allowing a single run in 7 innings while walking just one batter and striking out 10 in a 2-1 win. This price is not a bargain by any stretch to support Cleveland but Jimenez is flat lining right now and worth a bet against once again here and it’s worth noting the Orioles are in the midst of their first noticeable slump of the season having lost 4 straight games. I will recommend laying the moderate price with Cleveland to pick up the win on Saturday as our MLB pick.

Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels
The Dallas Keuchel woes continue for the Houston Astros as the ace lefty has been largely a disaster in 2016 following his Cy Young season of 2015. Keuchel was once again lit up by Texas in his last start allowing 7 runs on 9 hits in 6 innings and his road numbers remain even worse than his home numbers with a 6.57 ERA on the road this season. His walks are up while his strikeouts and swinging strike rate are both down from a season ago. I don’t expect Keuchel to have an easy time of it against the LA Angels who have been hitting the ball much better in recent games scoring 50 runs in their last 10 games combined.

However, I’m not sure how much I trust Jered Weaver on the opposite end of this pitching matchup. Weaver did pitch well last time out against Baltimore allowing just a pair of runs in 7 innings but his ERA still sits at 5.33 on the season and his FIP and xFIP numbers are right in line with his ERA which indicates he is not someone to be trusted to mow down opposing batters moving forward. He does have better numbers at home this season than on the road and the Angels are 4-0 in Weaver’s last 4 home starts against the Houston Astros so for that reason, Weaver might have a chance to outduel a struggling Keuchel but I still expect the Astros to be able to score at least a handful of runs in this game. Houston is just 1-6 in Keuchel’s last 7 starts and I’m willing to bet against him here from a side and total perspective and I will recommend the LA Angels as slight home underdogs and Over the total of 7.5 runs in this one on the MLB odds.

Recommendation: LA Angels +114 (Bookmaker/CRIS), Over 7.5 -118 (Heritage Sports)
