The Rockies bit the Dodgers Friday night, and made mush of one of our free MLB picks. This handicapper hopes to bounce back with a winner on Saturday's LA-Colorado bout.

Dodgers-Rockies Saturday Odds
In surfing the early MLB odds for Saturday the best price we could find on LA with lefty Brett Anderson was the -168 at SportsBetting, while Colorado with Kyle Kendrick could be found getting +160 at 5Dimes. The Dodgers were also lined at +104 on the run line at Pinnacle.

The Situation
Colorado took the opener of this series Friday night 7-4, cashing in as +130 home dogs.

LA, trying to clinch that NL West title, did this handicapper no favors with our MLB picks on Friday's contest, scoring just one run in five innings off a guy with an ERA over six.

At 87-66 Los Angeles leads second-place San Francisco, which also lost Friday, by eight games in the NL West, so the division title is almost a sure thing. But the Dodgers also now lead the Mets by just a half-game in the battle for home-field advantage in an upcoming NL divisional-round playoff series.

Meanwhile, the victory snapped a five-game losing streak for the Rockies.

LA leads this season series 11 games to six, with the OVERS going 10-7.

Here you can find our MLB Picks of the Day

Saturday's Starters
Kendrick (6-13, 6.37 ERA), by our tough count, is just five-for-25 on quality starts this season, and basically 0 for his last 11. Last Sunday he gave up six runs and four home runs in four innings against powerhouse San Diego, and while he had been better since a recent stint on the DL (shoulder), he still hasn't gone six full innings while allowing two or fewer runs since the middle of June. He's also given up 32 gophers balls this year, most in the Majors.

Colorado is 8-17 in Kendrick's starts this year, with the OVERS going 14-11.

In three starts this year against Los Angeles Kendrick has allowed 12 ER through 17 innings; the Rockies lost all three of those games.

We've got Anderson (9-9, 3.52 ERA) down for 13-for-29 on quality starts this season. Monday he gave up five runs and 10 hits in less than five innings against Arizona, but over his previous three starts he held foes to six ER through 16 2/3 innings.

The Dodgers are 15-14 in Anderson's starts, with the totals splitting 14-14.

In three starts this year against the team he pitched for last year Anderson has allowed six runs – four earned – through 16 1/3 innings; LA lost two of those games, although that wasn't his fault.

Saturday's Batting Splits
Los Angeles ranks seventh in the Majors this season against right-handed pitching with a .324 team on-base percentage, and eighth with a .415 team slugging percentage.

Colorado, on the other hand, ranks just 27th against left-handed pitching with a .302 team OBP and 29th with a .352 team slugging percentage. Perhaps that's why the Rockies are a ML-worst 9-30 against left-handed starters this season.

Ballpark Totals Factor
After last night's game played UNDER by half-a-stinkin' run the totals are now 43-34 in games played at Coors Field this season, which are averaging 11.4 runs per, easily the most among all ML ballparks.

We whiffed with our MLB picks on Friday's game, but we like the same combination for today's contest. So we'll make another run-line play on the visiting team, and back the OVER again at Coors Field.

MLB Picks: Los Angeles on the run line and OVER 11.5 runs (+106) at Pinnacle
