This is a rare spot where the Dodgers aren’t favored this season. Los Angeles is -103 (BetRivers) after opening at -116 while the Padres opened at -102 and are now -108 (FanDuel).

The total opened at 7.5 and has moved up to 8 at some books.

Tyler Anderson (15-4, 2.52 ERA, 1.01 WHIP) vs. Blake Snell (8-9, 3.62 ERA, 1.25 WHIP)

Tyler Anderson has come out of nowhere this season and the Dodgers are glad he did. He’s allowed one run or fewer in 16 of his 28 starts and has gone at least six innings in 19 outings. Los Angeles is 20-6 in his starts (10-4 on the road).

It’s been a tale of two halves for Blake Snell. He was 1-5 with a 5.22 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in the first half but has turned it around in the second half, going 7-4 with a 2.42 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. However, the Padres are only 8-14 in his starts (4-9 at home).

You have to bet on the Dodgers whenever you can get them at a price like this, especially with Anderson on the hill. He’s been as consistent as they come and the Dodgers are 2-1 in his starts against San Diego this season (18 IP, 3 ER).

On the flip side, Snell has allowed six earned runs in nine innings across two starts against Los Angeles this season with the Padres losing both games. The Dodgers tagged him for five runs in just four innings a few weeks ago at Petco Park.

Finally, the Dodgers still own the Padres. They’re 12-4 head-to-head this season, including 4-2 in San Diego.

These teams have combined for some high-scoring games this season, especially as of late. The last six meetings all went Over the total, including 12 runs or more in four of the last five matchups.
