NL West rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres do battle once again in what could end up as an NLDS preview. Here are our Dodgers-Padres same-game parlay picks for Tuesday.

The Dodgers have run away with the NL West this season, but the rival Padres are still jockeying for position in the NL Wild Card race. Will the pair of resurgent veteran starting pitchers dictate the outcome in San Diego?

Here are my same-game parlay picks for Tuesday’s matchup between the Dodgers and Padres (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Same Game Parlay Predictions for Dodgers-Padres

Snell 7+ strikeouts (-150) ★★★★

Blake Snell appears to have regained his form as an ace punch-out master this season, striking out 159 batters in 117 innings pitched. Last time out, he recorded his fifth double-digit strikeout performance since July 1, striking out 13 St. Louis Cardinals batters in his best start of 2022.

As an offense, the Dodgers are around the league median for strikeouts this season, fanning an average of 8.40 times per game. Snell gets a slight advantage against L.A. as a left-handed hurler, as the Dodgers have collectively struck out in 21.4% of their at-bats against righties and in 22.7% of their at-bats against lefties this season.

In two outings against the Dodgers this season, Snell is 1-for-2 in clearing this line. He fanned 12 Dodgers hitters on July 1, but only five in a poor performance that saw him leave the game after four innings on September 10. Snell has looked sharp since that last clunker, though, tossing seven strong innings in each of his last two games. If he pitches into the seventh again, his 12.2 K/9 — which would rank atop all of MLB if he had enough innings to qualify — is sure to get him to clear this line.

Anderson 3+ strikeouts (-190) ★★★

Tyler Anderson has been an effective member of the Dodgers rotation this season, posting a rock-solid 2.52 ERA. Strikeouts, however, aren’t really his game, with the left-hander compiling just 6.7 K/9 across 167 2/3 innings pitched in 2022.

The bar to boost our parlay is a low one to clear for Anderson, as he needs just three strikeouts to cash this prop. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts recently confirmed Anderson as part of the Los Angeles playoff rotation. His consistency is one of the main reasons why, as Anderson registered a quality start in seven of his last eight outings. Pitching deep into games gives the low-ratio lefty more opportunities to register an extra punch-out or two.

Anderson hit the three-strikeout benchmark 24 times in 28 appearances this season, and he’s done it in 13 of 14 games since July 1. He fanned three-plus batters in all three of his outings against San Diego, including on August 7 when he struck out three batters over seven scoreless innings. FanDuel does not offer strikeout props for Anderson, so we’re playing Tuesday’s parlay at DraftKings.

Taylor to record a hit (+110) ★★★

Chris Taylor is the only player in Tuesday’s game for whom DraftKings offers plus-money odds on him recording a base hit. With a favorable matchup against the Padres starter, that seems like a good opportunity to juice up our parlay following the two heavily-favored props we’ve identified above.

Taylor is 5-for-17 (.294) with a double and two home runs against Snell in his career. In a down year across the board for the veteran utilityman, Taylor hasn’t fared well against either side of pitcher, but he boasts a career OPS 24 points higher against left-handed pitching.

Because of his previous success against Snell in his career, we would anticipate Taylor being included in the starting lineup for the late-night affair. If Roberts goes another direction, we would pivot to Ha-Seong Kim 2+ Total Bases (+145) for the final leg of the parlay; the Padres infielder is 5-for-9 lifetime against Anderson.
