Whenever there is a game in Colorado you can always expect a high total set in the MLB odds. Can these teams combined put up enough to go over today?

Atlanta Braves vs Colorado Rockies

MLB Odds have come out with a total of 12 across the board for this contest. For my MLB pick, I'm going to back over the total like at Pinnacle Sports -105. This is a huge number but I like the way this game sets up for us to see a lot of runs in Colorado.

Atlanta Braves
Tyrell Jenkins starts for Atlanta and comes in with a 4.05 ERA and 1.55 whip with just 20 innings pitched in the major leagues. The young right-hander will get his first taste of what it is to pitch in Coors field and I think he is going to get knocked around quite a bit. Jenkins has been decent in most of his outings this season but you can almost throw away all the statistics for any pitcher that has to pitch in this ballpark. In the last couple seasons while pitching in the minors he has been okay with an ERA hovering around 3.20 with a 1.40 whip. Those numbers are not too encouraging for him to come in and go unscathed against a Colorado offense that can absolutely light up the scoreboard. Offensively Atlanta has been one of the worst, if not the worst, in the major leagues and has only scored 10 combined runs in their last three games in Colorado. I do expect them though to do a little bit more damage tonight as Tyler Chatwood has the highest home ERA of any starter they have seen in this series.

Colorado Rockies
Tyler Chatwood gets the start for the Rockies with a home 6.26 ERA with batters hitting .315 against him. It is a massive disparity against his road ERA of just 1.30 and batters hitting under .200 which just goes to show how difficult it is to pitch in this ballpark. Recently he has not pitched well at home in his last two starts giving up 11 earned runs in eight innings pitched off 16 hits. One might think that he'll be able to bounce back tonight against the poor hitting Braves, however, the two teams that did that damage against him were the offensively inept Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies. At the plate, Colorado leads the major leagues, as they should, in most home hitting statistics from runs per game to OPS. However, this line does seem a little bit large considering the fact that in their last six games at home since the All-Star break the Rockies have only gone over the total of and tied the total of 12 just one time each. I think Online Sportsbooks are on top of this line though and it is set this large for a reason, look for a ton of offense today and for both of these teams to score enough to go over.
