This matchup provides me with a nice opportunity to cash MLB Picks on the run total, as neither the Arizona Diamondbacks nor the Cincinnati Reds have playoff implications on the line.

Sunday's MLB Odds: Diamondbacks vs. Reds
MLB odds makers came out with a number 8 on the total for this matchup. There was of higher juice on that total on the over when it first came out but now it is gone the other way with a higher juice being on the under. At a couple places the line is actually dropped to 7.5, but I like the number 8 here and I'm in a back it at Bookmaker Sports Book at -117.

Arizona Diamondbacks
Chase Anderson gets the start for the Diamondbacks and comes in with a 4.51 ERA, 1.32 whip, 84 strikeouts, and a 5-5 record. He has been hot and cold in his last 10 games and has gotten knocked around in at least half of those. He is coming off two rough outings in which he allowed 10 earned runs off of 18 hits in just over nine innings. He has had a tough season but he doesn't walk a lot of guys and he does have good stuff, I fully expect him to have a good bounce back game today in Cincinnati.

Arizona ranks fourth in the major leagues in runs scored per game at 4.54, ninth in OPS at .732, and six in batting average hitting .265. All their major offensive statistics go down though on the road quite a bit. Their batting average drops from .272 in Arizona to .259, and there OPS from .760 to .708, those are some pretty big differences and although they had some success yesterday don't plan on them continuing that momentum today.

Cincinnati Reds
Raisel Iglesias takes the mound for the Reds with a 4.21 ERA, 1.18 whip, 64 strikeouts, and a 3-4 record.  In his last five outings he has been really sharp allowing just 10 runs in over 30 innings pitched, more impressively though is in those five starts he only gave up 19 hits total. He is coming off arguably his best outing of the year in which he held the Kansas City Royals to zero runs in just three hits, expect him to continue the momentum today against the Diamondbacks.

Cincinnati ranks 23rd in runs scored per game at 3.90, 15th in OPS at .710, and 22nd in team batting average hitting .248. They are very good home hitting team and all their offensive statistics go up in Cincinnati. Still, as mentioned, like Anderson in this bounce back spot to keep the Reds run total down to a minimum and limit their scoring chances.

After yesterday's offensive showing, most casual bettors will place MLB Picks over the total in this game, but when we break down the numbers with Anderson and a good bounce back spot, and Iglesias pitching really well right now look for both these pitchers to have two quality starts. Back the under.
