I expect a lot of zeros on the board when the Arizona Diamondbacks visit the Seattle Mariners. Although this line is low I just don't see a lot of runs in this matchup.

MLB Odds
Oddsmakers originally came out with this game at 7 and it dropped to 6.5, and that number is fine with me as I think we're looking like a 2-1 type of final. The best MLB odds I have seen at the under 6.5 is at Pinnacle, where you get that number at +100. I don't see this line moving a lot with this matchup of two teams out of the playoff hunt. Apologies to Diamondbacks fans but they are not making the playoffs.

Pitching Matchup
Patrick Corbin will get the start for the Diamondbacks. He comes in with a 3.68 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in just four starts this season. He has not gone really deep into ballgames with only going five innings in his first three, and seven in his last start. In his last three starts he has been good on the mound, allowing only 12 hits and seven runs in 17 innings. One issue though might be in giving up the long ball, as he has given up five home runs in his last three starts, and that is the one thing on the offensive side that Seattle actually does well as they are ranked ninth in the major leagues.

For the Mariners, Felix Hernandez takes the mound with a 2.69 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. Hernandez has been lights out in his last five starts. In those starts he has only allowed four earned runs in 33 innings pitched, and he seems to be hitting his groove right now. Look for him to have another dominant day as he always pitches well in Seattle.

At the Plate
Although Robinson Cano is back for the Mariners, they are still one of the lowest ranked offenses in the major leagues. Seattle ranks 25th in runs scored per game and 22nd in OPS this season. Against left-handers it doesn't get any better as they still rank 11th out of 15 American League teams in OPS, and 13th out of 15 teams in runs scored per game versus southpaws. The Diamondbacks are one of the better hitting teams overall in the major leagues. They rank seventh in runs scored per game and 10 in OPS, but both those stats go down on the road. Against someone like Hernandez, it doesn't really matter where a team ranks because he makes the best hitters look foolish.

This should be a really solid pitching matchup where you have a really dominant pitcher in Felix Hernandez against a decent offense in the Arizona Diamondbacks, versus a decent pitcher in Patrick Corbin against a subpar offense in the Mariners.

Pretty interesting matchup today in this interleague game and it is always fun to see Hernandez on the mound. Look for him to be his stellar self and shut down the Diamondbacks and for Corbin to do enough to keep Seattle in check, so back the under with your MLB picks.

MLB Pick: Under 6.5 (+100) at Pinnacle
