Cincinnati Reds vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Potential live underdog here in this game as the Reds face the Cardinals. Cincinnati continues to get quality outings from Anthony DeSclafani who has a 2.94 ERA coming into this start and has also dominated the Cardinals in the past. He has allowed 3 runs in 19 career innings pitched against St. Louis in three starts against them and Cincinnati is a perfect 3-0 in those games. On the flip side, St. Louis will send up and down lefty Jaime Garcia to the mound and his inconsistency shows in the fact that in each of his last three starts following a performance where has allowed 2 runs or less, he’s allowed 12 runs in 15.2 innings in those outings which is why even though he is coming off a brilliant 8 inning shutout performance against Atlanta, he is not overly trustworthy to count upon to be good here with a distinct track record of following up a great start with a mediocre or even bad one.

Cincinnati’s bullpen is way too much of a concern for me not to split this wager and recommendation in half with part of it in the first 5 inning line with Cincinnati and the other half of it on the full game in case the all too familiar Reds bullpen woes come back to haunt them like they did in Monday night’s series opener. Regardless, the Reds are taking back too much of a price here to not support them at this attractive plus MLB odds for your MLB pick with Cincinnati 7-4 in DeSclafani’s 11 starts this season while St. Louis is a money burning 5-7 in Garcia’s 12 home starts this season at Busch Stadium.
