Our MLB expert shares his two best totals picks on Tuesday’s card. Join us in reading this revealing betting preview article highlighting totals in games between Pittsburgh/Miami & Oakland/Seattle.

Pirates (Morton) vs. Marlins (Hand) 7:10 PM ET
Charlie Morton has been in very good form over his previous four starts, posting a stellar 2.52 ERA, and striking out 30 in 25.0 innings pitched. Since 2014, Morton has made three starts versus Miami, and had an outstanding 2.14 ERA in those outings. Pittsburgh has allowed exactly 2 runs in each of their previous three games. The Pirates are 9-1 under the total in 2015 after allowing 2 runs or less in each of their last three games.

Brad Hand has pitched very well in three home starts this year, evidenced by his superb 1.69 ERA in those outings. Since 2014, Hand has a sparkling 1.59 ERA and 0.97 WHIP during two starts against Pittsburgh. According to current MLB betting odds at 5Dimes, the total in this game is 8.0. Miami has gone 15-3 under the total this season when there’s a number of 8.0 or 8.5, and that includes a perfect 9-0 when playing at home. Those nine at home averaged a combined 5.8 runs scored per game.

I’m looking for this game to be a low scoring affair, and one of my MLB picks on Tuesday will be indicative of that prediction.

MLB Pick: Play on the Pirates and Marlins Under 8.0 (-110).

A’s (Chavez) vs. Mariners (Montgomery) 10:10 PM ET
Jesse Chavez has struggled in his last five starts on the road, posting a large 7.50 ERA in those outings. Chavez is 3-0-1 over the total since 2014 when facing Seattle with a lofty 5.33 ERA. The A’s are averaging 5.1 runs per game over their past seven contests.

Mike Montgomery has been brutal during his previous six starts, compiling a sizable 7.90 ERA and 2.05 WHIP. The Mariners southpaw has been plagued by control issues during that time, walking 20 men in only 27 2/3 innings pitched. Seattle has gone 4-0 over the total in their last four, and 21-9-3 over the number during its previous thirty-three games.

This has all the earmarks of a high scoring game. 5Dimes provides the best betting value regarding this specific wager.

MLB Pick: Play on the A’s and Mariners Over 7.5 (+105).
