There are many ways to go today in MLB as there are several even matches to choose from. However, a few matchups stand out from the rest and we will look to expose them to the public with our free betting picks.

Capper Catalano’s Record
186-165 -22.84 Units

We split yesterday as the ever reliable Clayton Kershaw delivered, but we put 2 units on the Yankees and Shane Greene and that game was over before it started. It’s time for the momentum to start going in our direction.

Detroit Tigers (76-62) vs. Cleveland Indians (70-66)
Will There Be Mercy On Verlander?
Justin Verlander gets the start against a Cleveland Indians squad that can score runs in bunches, but I’m kind of concerned about the crowd’s reaction to the pictures of Justin Verlander and model Kate Upton that were hacked and went public.

Let’s just say that the pictures were private and fans can be merciless. Baseball fans tend to be a little bit easier on the players than basketball fans, therefore I’m looking for Verlander (12-11, 4.68) to come out like a ball of fire as the Tigers really need this game. Detroit is ½ game behind the surprising Kansas City Royals for the American League Central Division lead.

The Tigers have outscored the Indians 16-3 in the first two games of this 4 game series and it appears that Miguel Cabrera has gotten his power back. Cabrera hit 2 home runs in the first game of this series off of ace Corey Kluber and went 3 for 5 in game 2. Look for the superstar to hit well today off of Cleveland starter Danny Salazar. Cabrera’s confidence is at an all-time high.

The biggest surprise of this series has been J.D. Martinez. Martinez has hit a home run in each of the first two games of this series and his 3-run home run blast in last night’s game, gave the Tigers the victory.

Cleveland has not looked good at all in this series, showing no sense of urgency with the post-season on the line. I look for Justin Verlander, who is coming off of a 2 consecutive wins, to make it 3 wins. Detroit is the pick in this matchup.

New York Mets (65-74) vs. Miami Marlins (67-70)
deGrom Gets the Start
Mets starter Jacob deGrom (7-6 ,2.94) has pitched so unexpectedly well this season. So much, that he has a chance at the National League Rookie of the Year Award.

deGrom should actually have more wins if the Mets provided him with more run support. One bit of advice for Mr. deGrom : Pitch around Giancarlo Stanton. He’s very strong and hits the farthest home runs that you will see. If Stanton wasn’t relegated to Marlins Stadium as his home turf, we would see many more homers from this stud.

Speaking of studs, 10 years ago, David Wright was thought of as the Mets future. Wright has had a good career, but has really had an awful season. That said, Wright has finally found his stroke in the month of September.

The Wright Stuff
Its common knowledge in the Mets organization; when David Wright plays well, they win ball games. He’s finally woken up after 139 ball games.

In his last 3 games, Wright is 6 for 13 with 6 runs batted in. When Wright finally hits that long awaited 9th home run of the season, expect him to go on a major run. The problem is that there are only 23 games left in the regular season. Wright is an amazing .431 off of Marlins pitching in 58 at- bats with 10 doubles, 2 HR and 16 RBI.

The Mets are coming off of an amazing 8-6 victory over Miami yesterday and look for deGrom to slow down the Marlins offense tonight, making them our MLB Pick on this game.
