Team USA is one win away from a return to the World Baseball Classic Final. Can the Americans upend Cuba to get there? Read on for our best Cuba vs. USA picks for the WBC 2023.

Thanks to an emphatic grand slam by shortstop Trea Turner, the United States is back on the WBC title game's doorstep. Cuba is the next country standing in the way of Team USA’s title defense.

Are the Americans ready to advance into the championship with style—or will we see another nailbiter for this team that's shown a flair for the dramatic to this point?

Here is our best Cuba vs. USA pick for the WBC semifinals (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Although it would have been pitcher Adam Wainwright’s turn Saturday, Team USA manager Mark DeRosa bumped Lance Lynn up the pecking order to give him a shot at the Venezuelan lineup. That leaves Wainwright for Sunday’s semifinal game against Cuba.

The Cuban lineup is less threatening than the Venezuelan one the United States just faced Saturday night. Outfielder Luis Robert and third baseman Yoan Moncada are the Cuban headliners as the only current big leaguers on the roster.

With Turner’s grand slam capping a barrage for Team USA Saturday, look for the United States to stay in that groove at the plate Sunday. Cuba sends 34-year-old lefty Roenis Elias to the mound to face an American lineup filled with right-handed sluggers like Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt, and Mike Trout. It’s a bad matchup for Cuba. Cuba's team also had to deal with the travel impact after flying in from Japan following pool play on Thursday.

We could have attacked more attainable lines, with several sports betting sites offering Team USA at -1.5 or -2.5 on the run line. But this feels like the game where the lineup and pitching staff comes together to advance the Americans back to the final for the second WBC event in a row—with enough authority to carry some serious momentum into Tuesday's final against either Mexico or Japan.

FanDuel: -3.5 (+112)

-1.5-3.5-2.5-1.5-1.5
-205+112-155-210-220

We have three different run lines across our five best sportsbooks for this matchup. DraftKings, Caesars, and PointsBet list the United States at -1.5. If you want to bet that line, dismiss the odds at Caesars (-210) and PointsBet (-220) in favor of DraftKings' -205 offering.

If you’re buying into an American rout, FanDuel has the most value on a potential blowout at +112 odds on Team USA -3.5. While splitting the difference at BetMGM (-2.5, -155) is probably the safer play, ride with the FD line as long as the odds remain in the plus-money territory. With a U.S. team hitting its stride, don’t mind some added risk provided the reward is this attractive.
