Cleveland Indians vs Colorado Rockies Odds & Free Picks for June 7th

Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer

Oddsmakers have come out setting a high total for today's interleague action between the Rockies and the Indians, which makes a lot of sense. However, I have a hard time believing we won't see a lot of runs in this offensive matchup.

Cleveland Indians

Trevor Bauer takes the mound for Cleveland and he has had a rough season so far coming in with a 5.83 ERA and 1.40 whip. He simply has not been sharp this year for the most part and on the road, he has particularly struggled with a 6.14 ERA and batters hitting .268 against him. This a bad spot I believe for him to come in and pitch well in any kind of capacity as the Rockies are one of the best home hitting teams in baseball.

Since Jason Kipnis has come back in the lineup for Cleveland they started to show a little bit of life and currently they rank in around the middle the league in most categories. I do expect their statistics to improve but what I like about them to score a lot today is the fact they do get on base at a decent rate with a .324 on base percentage. Up and down they have some nice hitters in the lineup and I expect them to have a lot of quality at-bats.

Colorado Rockies

Kyle Freeland takes the mound for Colorado and comes in with a 3.53 ERA and 1.38 whip in his first season as a major leaguer. The young left-handers have actually been pretty decent even at home with a 3.94 ERA and batters hitting .263 against him, definitely not bad numbers pitching in Colorado. Offensively Colorado is one of the most productive teams in all of baseball and their numbers jump quite significantly at home for obvious reasons.

Currently, they are hitting .267 as a team and averaging 5.08 runs per game both of which ranks them fourth in major league baseball. They should be able to score early and often in this matchup versus Bauer and I expect Freeland, despite is decent numbers, to give up his share.

Oddsmakers have of course come out with another high total in Colorado setting this at 11 but for my MLB pick, I will back over the total. I simply don’t see either these pitchers getting out of this contest unscathed look for a lot of runs and for another high-scoring affair in the Rockies.
