Chicago White Sox vs. Milwaukee Brewers
Saturday, July 25, 2021 – 07:08 PM EDT at Miller Park
The Milwaukee Brewers look to finish off a three game sweep of the Chicago White Sox this evening in Milwaukee.
The Brewers have been really good in this series thus far. They have won both games by a combined score of 13-2. That is incredibly impressive against a quality team like Chicago. Now tonight, Milwaukee looks to Brandon Woodruff to keep things rolling on the mound. Woodruff is 7-4 this season with a miniscule earned run average of 2.04. Woodruff has been a true ace for the Brew Crew, and if not for Jacob de Grom and his usual perfection, Woodruff would be generating a lot of Cy Young chatter right about now.
Speaking of Cy Young chatter, there may not be much around Lance Lynn, but, damn, there should be. This dude is 9-4 on the season with an ERA of 1.94. He pitches in the American League and has an earned run average under two! That is simply astounding. Lynn takes the mound tonight to try and avoid the sweep for the ChiSox. Their offense has been stagnant in this series, only scraping across two runs combined, but eventually, we all know what the White Sox are capable of putting on the scoreboard.
The bottom line is this is a great pitching matchup tonight in Milwaukee. I don’t like the odds of the White Sox getting swept. I also think that Lynn is slightly better than Woodruff right now. For my MLB pick, I’ll back the White Sox at plus money to get the win and avoid the sweep.
