Wednesday's Betting Odds
As of early Wednesday morning most books were listing Toronto and Marco Estrada at around -115 over Chicago and Jeff Samardzija, with MLB odds offering a total of nine runs.
Toronto has taken the first two games of this series by scores of 6-0 Monday and 10-9 Tuesday. The Jays trailed Tuesday night 9-7 into the bottom of the ninth, but Josh Donaldson knocked a three-run homer for the come-from-behind victory.
For the streak bettors out there Toronto has won three in a row, while Chicago has lost four in a row.
Also, the White Sox have been held to three runs or less in eight of their last nine games.
Estrada is 0-for-four on quality starts since joining the Jays rotation earlier this month. Last time out he gave up four runs in seven innings against Seattle, and in his four starts he's allowed 13 earned runs through 21 2/3 innings. Toronto is 0-4 in Estrada's starts.
This will be Estrada's first-ever start against the White Sox.
Samardzija is three for his last four on quality starts, after holding Minnesota to two runs and three hits through eight innings, with one walk and nine whiffs, last Friday. Just before that he limited Oakland to three runs through eight frames. The Sox, even as they've struggled of late, have won three of his last four starts.
In his only career start against Toronto, which came last July when he was with Oakland, Samardzija allowed just one run through seven innings of a 4-2 A's victory.

Chicago may own an edge in the pitching match-up, but Sox bats are cold. So we like the Jays to complete the sweep today. Also, games played at Rogers Centre this year are 14-10 on the UNDERS, in part because Jays home games have been lined with such high totals. With today's total at nine runs we're thinking UNDER.
