Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides a look at MLB Overnight Betting Lines for the games taking place on Wednesday, June 1.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Colorado Rockies
We saw a wild high scoring affair in the series opener at Coors Field between these teams and I expect a similar result on Wednesday between the Reds and Rockies. I figured the Reds weak starting pitching and even worse bullpen which is still last in the Majors would be a bad fit for this ballpark and it proved to be that way in the opener allowing 8 runs but fortunately the bats were swinging well for them as they tacked on 11 runs. John Lamb is extremely vulnerable in this setting as the Reds lefty has been battered for 13 runs on 17 hits in 7.2 innings on the road this season allowing 5 home runs in 23.2 innings of work overall and his low 39.8% ground ball rate is a major red flag as he pitches in a home run hitting park like Coors Field.

The Reds bullpen behind Lamb is still dead last in MLB in ERA and should offer Colorado plenty of chances to score runs late too so I’d expect Colorado to approach double digits in runs scored by themselves in this game. Tyler Chatwood is on the mound for the Rockies and he’s off B2B good starts against San Francisco and Pittsburgh but he has labored here at home with a 5.01 ERA in 3 home starts this season and has allowed 6 home runs in 30 innings pitched at Coors Field this season which could spell trouble against a Cincinnati team that pounded out 11 runs in the series opener against the Rockies and still possesses plenty of home run pop from the likes of Joey Votto, Jay Bruce and Adam Duvall among others. Expect a major slugfest to erupt in Denver.

Texas Rangers vs. Cleveland Indians
Trevor Bauer has spent years in the Major Leagues living off potential but has yet to realize it and may never at this stage of his career. Has toiled in mediocrity once again this season since joining the Indians rotation late in April. Cleveland is just 2-4 in his 6 starts overall and 0-3 in his last 3 trips to the mound. He has a 5.09 ERA in his last three starts and a 5.01 ERA at home allowing 13 runs on 21 hits in 23.1 innings pitched in this ballpark. Texas will since their ace lefty Cole Hamels will be looking to bounce back from a rare poor outing in his last start against Pittsburgh and I expect him to do just that as Hamels best work has come on the road all season long entering this game with a 1.63 ERA in 4 road starts allowing just 5 earned runs in 27.2 innings away from home.

Texas is 3-1 in those 4 road starts by Hamels and they are playing great baseball overall with a 8-2 record in their last 10 games. Cleveland continues to struggle more against lefty pitching as they have for years as they were held to a single run in 6 innings by Texas lefty Derek Holland in the series opener on Monday. Hamels has had issues allowing home runs of late but Cleveland has averaged just 0.2 home runs per game as a team against lefties this season so they aren’t the best possible candidate to take advantage of some long ball struggles for Hamels. This price at near even $$ is perfectly reasonable to support Texas to keep their recent winning ways going on Wednesday night.
