We look at Saturday's slate of MLB games and there's a ton of value to out there as most of the games are very evenly matched with a ton of number 2 men in the starting pitching rotations, starting tonight.

Let's take an in-depth look at the MLB odds and see which "side of the coin" that would most benefit us concerning our MLB Picks of the Day.

Chicago White Sox at Los Angeles Angels
Opportune Moment For the Halos. As we enter the 2nd half of the 2016 MLB Season, the Los Angeles Angels made a definite statement in their attempt to get out of the American League West Division basement last night. The Angels are currently 38-52, have won 6 out of their last 10 games and came out strong on Friday with a 7-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox. If the Angels are to have any chance to get back in the post-season mix, they need to start immediately. They face a White Sox team which started off the season fast but has started to drop back into the pack, barely staying above the .500 mark and have lost 2 straight games. The White Sox are still the better team but these teams appear to be going in different directions.

A Perfect Combination
The Angels have a perfect combination of ability to get on base in Yunel Escobar and guys that can knock the ball out of the park in Mike Trout and Albert Pujols. We all know what Mike Trout can do as he's the best player in the majors, but Escobar is somewhat flying under the radar.

After a 2 for 4 effort against Chicago on Friday, Escobar has raised his batting average to .320. When Escobar play's he's quite effective, going 17 for 45 in the month of July. This equates to a .378 BA. He's the perfect player in the leadoff spot as he has two of the best players in Trout and Pujols to knock him in. Staying healthy is the name of the game and if he can do so, the Angels will improve and possibly tonight against James "Big Game" Shields (4-10, 5.42 ERA) who has been far from a big game pitcher this season.

Shields might have been the man in Kansas City, but he's starting to move around from town to town a lot and that's not a good sign. First, San Diego and now Chicago, Shields looks to regain his old form. Even though Shields has pitched to an ERA of 10.00 to the American League, Shields has had 3 consecutive quality outings, allowing 5 earned runs in 20 1/3 innings. I look for another solid outing out of Shields. It's just a matter of the amount of run support that he receives.

Cleveland Indians at Minnesota Twins
Which Twins Team Shows Up? The Cleveland Indians have simmered down a bit, but still lead the American League Central Divsion by 6 1/2 games at 53-36. Now, they face a Minnesota Twins team which has won 7 out of their last 10 games. That said, the Twinkies are still 32-57 and 21 games behind Cleveland. Tonight's matchup should be interesting as the Tribe send Trevor Bauer (7-3, 3.30 ERA) to the mound in what appears to be a mismatch against Tyler Duffey (5-6, 5.20 ERA). To add insult to injury for Minnesota, Duffey has accrued a dazzling 7.20 ERA at home.

Bauer Power
Trevor Bauer has been a nice compliment to Corey Kluber in the Indians pitching rotation thus far this season. He's been ultra-consistent, but with that said, he's coming off of his first poor outing in his last 9 outings, which were all quality.

In his last start, Bauer gave up 5 runs on 8 hits in 5 2/3 innings to the New York Yankees. I look for Bauer to bounce back as he's had a nice stretch of starts in which he's given the opposition fits. Add in the fact that he's a great pitcher on the road with a 2.57 ERA and a bettor should feel confident choosing the Cleveland Indians as their betting pick.

Eduardo Nunez
Speaking of New York Yankees, the former Yankee Nunez has been a real leader on the Twins this season. He leads the team with 12 HR, 40 RBI, a .317 BA and 22 SB. One thing that Nunez won't do is walk and that's unfortunate for Minnesota as he's a beast on the basepath. Who will be the star of this game? Will it be the hot hitting Mike Napoli for Cleveland or Eduardo Nunez. My answer is Trevor Bauer. Make the Tribe your MLB pick.
