Some big-time aces taking the mound on this Wednesday. Do we go with the chalk or find the value? Find out as we present you our valuable MLB Picks of the Day.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks
Adrian Gonzalez and Kyle Seager might be good hitters in the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup and Paul Goldchmidt is starting to come on like gangbusters  for the disappointing Arizona Diamondbacks, but this game is about one thing and one thing only and that's the best pitcher in baseball in the last 2 decades and in the discussion for more and that's Clayton Kershaw.

It doesn't matter if the Dodgers possess a merely average offense. As long as they can scratch out a couple of runs, with Kershaw starting, they're the play. Los Angeles is a -217 on the road and as crazy is at it may seem, those aren't poor MLB Odds.

Usually when someone is good at their craft, we label them with just their last name. You look on Twitter and you'll see the name Schwarzengger or Stallone. Well, I have another Hollywood bigwig and his name is "Kershaw" He just wins baseball games and doesn't let opponents score off of him.

For the season, "Kershaw" is carrying a 9-1 mark with a 1.52 ERA. This is a pitcher that can go the entire 9 innings; no bullpen needed. In his last 8 starts, Kershaw has allowed a total of 7 earned runs in 63 2/3 innings. Along with those outstanding numbers, he's only given up 32 hits during that period of time and has struck out the opposing team in double digits in 6 out of those 8 outings. Kershaw, for the season, is allowing the opposition to a mere .169 BA. The problem with him is that he's on a poor team where run support is concerned.

In his last 10 starts, the Dodgers offense has scored 5 runs or less in all 10 starts in support of Kershaw. Regardless, look for this stud to mow down the Diamondbacks in a ballpark where the weather is hot and the baseball flies.

Paul Goldschmidt
If there was one player that has a chance of getting to Kershaw, it's Paul Goldschmidt. This heavy hitter is a 30 home run, 100 RBI, and .300 hitter every season. This season, he's gotten off to a slow start, but has recovered. In the month of June, Goldy has hit .327 with 2 HR and 8 RBI.

His batting average has risen to a respectable .281. With all that, his OBP% is .425 and that's because opposing pitchers fear him. A Goldschmidt vs. Kershaw matchup shall be interesting although I always side with Mr. Kershaw. For a winning MLB Pick, you  have to lay the massive amount of juice with the Dodgers and "Kershaw".

Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox
June hasn't been a kind month to superstar pitcher, Chris Sale, has he's gotten battered around and now he must face a top-level offense in the Detroit Tigers with one of the best hitters in baseball history in the great Miguel Cabrera.

Miggy has had a power outage the last couple of seasons and started off this season slow, but he's come on strong and anytime that he steps to the plate, the opposing pitcher, including Chris Sale, should be worried. The question is "Which Chris Sale will show up tonight on the South Side of Chicago?"

Sale's Demise
Despite an atrocious June, Chris Sale had played so well previously that he still carries a 2.87 ERA to go along with his 10-2 record. He's been very un-Sale-like. In his last 10 starts, Chris Sale has failed to pitch 10 strikeouts or more in a game. This coming from the best strikeout artist in the game. Worst of all for Sale, in the month of June, he's pitched to a 6.57 ERA.

The sampling is small as he's pitched 12 1/3 inning in 2 starts and has allowed 9 runs on 20 hits and while striking out just 10 batters. When facing a Detroit Tigers team (33-31) which has won 7 out of their last 10 games, a pitcher needs to come at them with some momentum and Chris Sale is certainly lacking it.

Loaded Lineup
Even with Nick Castellanos slumping and falling below .300 (.297), this Tigers lineup is loaded with depth. A few examples of this are Ian Kinsler (14 HR , 44 RBI, .314 BA), Victor Martinez (9 HR, 35 RBI, .333 BA), Miguel Cabrera (12 HR, 37 RBI .305 BA), and J.D. Martinez (12 HR, 39 RBI, .287 BA). Let's not foget that Justin Upton is a member of this team. Chris Sale has a lot on his plate here.
