We are pleased to share betting insight with this matchup. This is your "Road Warrior Play of the Day" at an incredible value price backed by a Hidden Gem pitching statistic.

Tampa Bay Rays (Karns) vs. Cleveland Indians (Carrasco) (-170) 7:10 ET
The Tampa Bay Rays visit the Cleveland Indians for the first of a 3-game weekend set.  The teams enter with divergent momentum, we have a Hidden Gem statistic that greatly favors our starter.  In what can only be considered to be our Road Warrior Play of the Day, we line up with the Tampa Bay Rays at this HUGE Big Dog price!

More was expected of the Cleveland Indians, as they have struggled to make it to the .500 mark.  Their bats were booming the first 2 months of the season.  Tonight, they enter on a 4-6 slide and are averaging just 2.9 RPG on offense in the month of June.  Cy Young award winner, Kluber, is just starting to reach his potential.  A major reason why the pitching staff is ranked 20th in MLB with a .721 OPS.  Though Cleveland has won 8 of 13 starts by tonight's starter, Carrasco, that is a function of solid run support as he has a 4.38 ERA.  His numbers are strictly middle of the road with a 3.52 ERA in his last 5 and a home WHIP of 1.37.   In short, Cleveland is an underachieving team with a run of the mill starting pitcher.

Even though manager, Joe Maddon, has departed for Chicago, the Rays are still overachieving.  A 0-6 slide in May, dropped their record to 24-25.   In that time, however, they have gone 14-5 to be one of the hottest teams in the American League.  The Rays are led by a starting pitching staff that has a .670 OPS (No. 3 in the American League).  In the last 23 games, their starters have posted a record of 1.89 ERA.  The biggest surprise of the year has been Karns.  He has allowed 2 or less runs in 9 of 12 recent starts.  In fact, in his 9 most recent starts, Karns has a 2.28 ERA.  Most notable among his work for the season is his performance on the road.  Though the Rays are just 2-3 in Karns' away starts, he has a 0.83 WHIP.  We know from my articles of June that any road pitcher who has a road WHIP of 1.10 or less is a 75% winning proposition.  Making this play even better is the fact the Rays have the highest winning road percentage in baseball with a record of 19-11 as traveler, including 9-2 recently.

In what can only be considered your Road Warrior MLB Pick of the Night, we take this HUGE Big Dog price, who is the better team, the hotter team and has the better of it on the mound.
