San Francisco continues to be a pain in the Dodgers' rear end, taking the first two games of this series with a pair of shutouts. Do we bet the Giants to complete the sweep for our MLB picks?

Dodgers-Giants Thursday Betting Odds
As of early Thursday AM most of the MLB betting odds were favoring LA and Clay Kershaw by about -130 over San Francisco and fellow lefty Madison Bumgarner, with a total of six runs. The Dodgers could also be found getting +145 on the run line at WagerWeb.

The Situation
San Francisco took the opener of this series Tuesday night 2-0, winning as a +105 home dog, then did it again Wednesday, winning 4-0 as a +120 home underdog. Both those games, obviously, also played UNDER the totals.

So the Giants have won five in a row, while the Dodgers have lost five of their last seven. Also, San Francisco has now taken six of eight games from LA this season, with the totals leaning toward the UNDERS by a 5-3 margin.

Big-picture, the Dodgers lead the NL Central by 2.5 games over the second-place Giants.

Thursday's Starters
This is the third meeting this season between these two nasty lefties; San Francisco won both previous games, by scores of 3-2 and 2-1.

Bumgarner is five-for-eight on quality starts this season, and four for his last five. Last Friday he held Cincinnati to two runs through seven innings, and over his last five starts he's allowed a total of eight runs. On the season Bumgarner has given up 18 runs and 48 hits in 50 2/3 innings, with 46 strikeouts and just eight walks; San Francisco is 5-3 in Bumgarner's starts, with the totals going 5-3.

Bumgarner has started twice this season against Los Angeles, allowing three runs and 11 hits through 14 1/3 innings, with three walks and 15 strikeouts.

Kershaw, by our strict standards, is four-for-eight on quality starts this season. Last Friday he allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings against Colorado, with 10 strikeouts, although just before that those same Rockies got to him for five runs in less than six innings. For the season Kershaw has allowed 24 ER and 49 hits through 51 innings, with 66 strikeouts against 14 walks; Los Angeles is only 4-4 in Kershaw's starts, with the totals going 4-3.

Kershaw has started twice this season against the Giants, giving up four runs and 10 hits through 13 innings, with one walk and 17 whiffs.

Thursday's Batting Splits
Los Angeles ranks 22nd in the Majors with a .702 team OPS against left-handed pitching. The Dodgers have also tallied a total of just two runs over their last four games.

San Francisco ranks 23rd with a .679 OPS against lefties this season.

Totals Betting Trends
Games played at AT&T Park this season are 15-7 on the UNDERS, averaging a ML-low 6.1 runs per.

Dodgers-Giants Free Picks
San Francisco with Bumgarner is 2-0 this year against LA and Kershaw, with two UNDERS, and we don't see much reason to believe today's outcome will be any different for our MLB picks.
